Evening all.

The dress hunt was successful. PB tried on three dresss and liked all of them. Fortunately, she and her auntie (bride-to-be) had the same favourite. She looked as pretty as a picture, and was so excited, she even hugged the assistant in the bridal shop.

Squiggle, BB is tall and a sturdy build (unlike PB who is dinky) so he will really suit a kilt - and look incredibly cute too.

Sorry El, I can't help with the song, I have no idea who it is.

Summer, I'm glad your wifi is sorted.

Moonie, I'm off to make my guess in your "starts with c and ends with e" puzzle.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, still warm but not the heat over the last few days.

Summer, I'm not surprised with yesterday being the warmest summer solstice on record.

Yogi, I'm glad the dress hunt was successful I've asked the BBC about that song so may find out the answer over the next few days.

Client meeting this morning, straightfoward one - the travelling time will be as long as the actual meeting

Talking Pictures has The Good Companions on this evening at 7.10 pm, British musical comedy though I don't think either of the leads Eric Portman and Celia Johnson do any of the singing. the reason for mentioning it is that it's based on the novel of the same name by J B Priestley (Father Brown stories).

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, a lovely breeze and much cooler and fresher.  So nice to be able to enjoy a good night's sleep, I hope everyone else has caught up on their sleep too.

I hope all went well with the Council inspection Moonie.  What a lovely day you had Yogi, I bet little Miss PB cannot wait until she can wear her beautiful flower girl dress.  And with the fine upstanding young man in his kilt alongside her.  It's going to be such a happy day.

Enjoy your day everyone

I'm back from that client, a straightfoward meeting and I did get a cup of coffee She's almost 80 and was saying that was such a lack of television to watch so I mentioned Talking Pictures to her which she wasn't aware of. I showed her that she could get it on her television (Freeview). I think she will find quite a few things to watch on it. I also showed her how to retune the television as she didn't know how to and was waiting for her son to do it for her when he next visited. (The only son I know of lives in Jersey).

Good morning it's warm here but dark clouds are gathering and rain feels imminent, I'm going to enjoy every drop that splashes off the pavement

I'm sure the lady appreciated your help, El.

BBC article today about the very high proportion of male lead acts in the headline slots of music festivals in the UK.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-40273193
In the survey there were just 6 female acts, Beyonce, Pink, Florence & the Machine, Grace Jones, Rihanna and Joanna Newsom.

I'll add a note re Joanna Newsom as I think she's likely to be the least known to people. She's American and does sort of folk music using a harp or piano. I was intrigued when I heard of her so bought one of her albums called Ys just to see if I liked it. Here's the shortest song on that album (there's only 5 as they are longer than the average song).

Personally I find her diction appalling and it's hard to work out what the words are.

Good morning everyone

Cooler and fresher here today.

Another client meeting this morning, straightforward though will be longer than yesterday's.

You may have heard on the news about some 800,000 Viirgin Media users told to change their network and router passwords. They are those users who have Superhub 2 who use them wireless rather than wired and who haven't changed their passwords from the factory set passwords.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone.

It's raining up here.

El, I hope the meeting goes well.

Re the Virgin hub password, I changed the hub password from "Change me" some time ago (on your advice). Is there something else I need to change?

Hubby and I are off to the cinema this afternoon. We can decide whether to see Churchill or Hampstead.

Have a good day, everyone.

Yogi, their advice for wireless users is to also change the passphrase under wireless settings from that shown on the underneath of the superhub. Their reason is that as it only has 8 letters it's fairly quick for hackers to crack it so they advise something longer. A nonsense but memorable phrase with bits of punctuation marks for instance I-roam:apples-groaning:heavier-crash

I've changed the passphrase today but I'll go back and add some punctuation marks and make it longer.

Edit: done! Thanks El.

You may want to see Monday's episode of Doctors as there's a on off appearance from a well known actor best known for two of the most popular television series of all time which are still being repeated though they finished quite some time ago. I say two series though there are three series but two of them are essentailly the same with just an extra word in the title. You may be able to guess who I mean from just that information.
