Good morning everyone

Very warm and sunny here. There are rumours that Donner und Blitzen will be around tonight and tomorrow.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a great day with PB and BB

The BBC Store couldn't compete with the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime whish is why they decided to pull the plug.

Ros, I hope your rehearsals for the St Cecilia Mass are going well For those who don't know, Charles Gounod wrote it in homage of St Cecilia who is the patron saint of music.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone.

The sun is shining and we are expecting 25 degrees.

Squiggle, I had the windows open, the bedroom door open and the ceiling fan on - and it was still very warm.

El, it's a shame about BBC Store closing down. I had bought a couple of series which aren't available on DVD.

Gardening this morning, then a visit to Costco.

Have a good day everyone.

Squiggle and Yogi, the BBC says that it will continue to find new ways of making its archive content available outside the BBC store.

I suppose it's possible that the new Amazon TV channel section could be one. That's only just been launched and there's not a lot of channels there at present. ITV Hub, Discovery and Eurosport are the best known so far. But it's a Prime service so there's that annual fee besides the cost of the programmes. Fine if you use Amazon quite a lot but not so good for casual use.

Netflix had saved it in my list. It's called Border Town.

Good morning everyone.

The sun is shining, although it's not to get as warm as yesterday.

Middle son will be visiting later.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone

Fairly bright here and not as hot as recently - a thoroughly wet night tonight is forecast.

Ros, I'm glad your rehearsals are going well. I know what you mean when some weeks are better than others. At our church the deputy organist has a noticeably slower tempo than the other - andante (slowish) v vivace (lively) so the choir can get caught out particularly if one organist does the choir practice and the other the services. There have been times where I think the main organist wants to go somewhere straight after the service as he can go presto (very quick) (I've put the meanings of the musical terms in brackets for the benefit of the others as you would know what I mean anyway).

Good, just about morning, everyone

Lovely and sunny here again. Not to warm yet though

Just back from the park. Mum and 8 cygnets are on the large island in the big pool resting from the sun

Dad  is doing his usual, hunting down any goose that dares to venture onto "his" pool

Have a lovely day friends

Yogi, as you like noir television and films you might be interested in this. The Talking Pictures tv channel is showing Lady of Deceipt on Tuesday at noon. It's a 1947 black and white film which has been shown on television before. It's directed by Robert Wise but is far far removed from his Sound of Music and West Side Story. It is ultra noir. It's also known as Born to Kill. It was originally classified as A but I think it's closer to a 12 nowadays as it's so dark. It's certainlly not suitable for young children.

yes EL know exactly  what you mean choirs are very dependent on how they are conducted.

Good morning everyone

Very overcast and rain is likely.

Yogi, I hope the funeral you are going to tomorrow goes well. I remember you saying that your recording device doesn't inlcude the Talking Pictures channel. It's likely that they will show the film again sometime though it's not on their schedule again for the following two weeks.

Ros, with a nod to Summer, here's Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols:

Of to see the Hereford client this morning (it's a convenient time for them even though it's a bank holiday).

I hope everyone has a good day
