Moonie, I've just seen your thread where you say the skip isn't on your property. Looking at my local council it indicates that a licence is required If you are intending to place a skip on the highway (road, footway or verge). That seems to be the case for any property as there's no mention of it being just for council housing.  It's the skip company who arranges the permit.

El, I agree with what you have said. My sister managed to get through to the council and it does apply across the board

The skip is for her btw

Moonie

From time to time I've posted clips of Cerys Matthews singing. Here's another one.

It's in Welsh though with subtitles. It's not the most serious song and might make you smile. The man at the beginning and the end is a Dr Meredydd Evans. The clip must be a few years old as he died just over 2 years ago. He was a collector and singer of Welsh folk music.

I've posted my parcel, picked up a prescription, cleaned the kitchen and now I'm about to tackle the ironing.

I hope you are all doing something more interesting than me?

Yogi, you have been busy already

I have shopped, done a little DIY shopping too, put me lotto on and been shocked by the prices of skips and permits to have them on council property

And don't ask me about skip sizes

*heads off to take a chill pill*

Happy ironing

Hi squiggle

I've read the skip thread but couldn't help. It sounds complicated.

Yogi, I'm going through some files of purchase invoices of a client at present. That's alnost as interesting as what you've been doing. The key difference is that I'm getting paid to do that

Moonie, never having lived in council housing I've no knowledge as to the need for permits. It seems odd that you would need to pay for a permit if the skip was on your property.

I've got sauce in my hair

i know, I can't explain it to her so she's just going to continue doing it. I've put her back on brown rice again already

how was your evening?

How did you manage to get sauce in your hair?

They just don't associate eating yucky stuff with being sick - so they never learn.

My evening has been quiet.

Good morning I hope the sun is shining for you all and that each of you have slept well.

I had a hectic day yesterday, work was non stop and I had some important paperwork to take care of last night.

Bramble is better thank you, and was adorably affectionate yesterday

what are you all doing today?

Moonie, I hope things are well there

Good morning everyone, a beautiful sunny morning.  I'm glad you and the little ones were able to spend time in the garden Yogi.  Our little ones were insect hunting in my daughter's garden - they found a centipede but were careful not to touch it.  Our little girl bravely declared she would hold a spider - until they found one that is - then she screamed   My daughter is on a constant battle with the monster slugs we have down here - some are bright orange they like the veggies she is growing and so does she!

I'm glad Bramble is feeling better now Summer. I hope your  meeting goes well EL and that the council will soon be able to look at your boiler Moonie and finally get to the end of all the jobs.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Thanks Squiggle, the meeting went well. The client is the one I've known since the mid 70s when she and her parents moved in to the house next to my parents so she's more of a friend rather than just a client.

Having just had my lunch, I don't want to think about monster orange slugs

I would hope that Moonie's council would have sorted out his boiler by now. They should have.

Just been cutting the grass, what there is of it as there's been little growth here due to the lack of rain in this part of the country. There is some rain forecast in the next few days and it's definitely needed.

Off to see a client for a routine straightforward meeting.

I noticed our grass hasn't grown very much due to the dry weather.
