Yogi, as you say, the landscape in Hinterland is beautiful and becomes almost one of the characters in it, Much as in Vera and Shetland (though those are written by a different author).

Squiggle, as you say, there's a massive difference in the landscape between where you used to live and nowadays.

Beautiful scenery in all of those programmes

Good afternoon Buddies

Fankoo one and all. The central heating does work but just about warm enough to heat the rads, no matter how high the thermostat is increased.

*adds to council's, list of to do's*

Lovely warm sunny day here, at last. Hardly a breeze

What washing I had is on the line

Have a lovely day everyone

At least the weather is milder atm, so you won't be too cold till the heating is sorted.

A trip to the post office to post a parcel, catching up on ironing and housework. Nothing exciting.

Yep, I think she is already up to a skip and a half already and still looking

Joking, one skip should do the job

But it all has to be done, now matter how mind numbing it is

Moonie, it's a pity that bleeding the radiators didn't have any effect. It looks as if it's more complicated so it looks as if you'll need to wait for a heating engineer. A 30 year thermostat does sound rather elderly so that could well be the problem. Or there's a problem with a pump or the divertor valve, being a combi-boiler, (those are definitely for an engineer to sort out).

I never touch anything electrical or gas related El

I would probably blow the street up or electrocute myself

Good  neither would I

nor me definitely one for the professionals

I've posted my parcel, picked up a prescription, cleaned the kitchen and now I'm about to tackle the ironing.

I hope you are all doing something more interesting than me?

Yogi, you have been busy already

I have shopped, done a little DIY shopping too, put me lotto on and been shocked by the prices of skips and permits to have them on council property

And don't ask me about skip sizes

*heads off to take a chill pill*

Happy ironing

Hi squiggle

Moonie

Yogi, I'm going through some files of purchase invoices of a client at present. That's alnost as interesting as what you've been doing. The key difference is that I'm getting paid to do that

Moonie, never having lived in council housing I've no knowledge as to the need for permits. It seems odd that you would need to pay for a permit if the skip was on your property.

El Loro

Moonie, I've just seen your thread where you say the skip isn't on your property. Looking at my local council it indicates that a licence is required If you are intending to place a skip on the highway (road, footway or verge). That seems to be the case for any property as there's no mention of it being just for council housing.  It's the skip company who arranges the permit.

At lunchtime I saw on the BBC red button on television a news item about a 2 year old toddler who wandered into a field of rapeseed. He got lost and his parents could hear him crying but couldn't find him as the rapeseed was higher than he was. So they called the police. Some 50 police officers, a police helicopter and members of the public went in search of him.

And that's where the red button news item ended

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-39844625

The toddler was found safe and well and was reunited with his parents
