I'm glad you had a good time at the beach Summer.  Our little boy is such a little sweetheart.  One of the nicest things for me is seeing how totally in love with him my daughter is, such a joy.  He calls her Nana (I'm Granma same as I am with her boys) and the other day when they all went to the park, the two brothers, my youngest grandson's partner and her son with the eldest grandson's two, the little one carefully picked a primrose, careful to get the long stem and said to his Daddy, 'for Nana', so sweet.

Omg that's amazing!!!!! I already have their app and love plotting routes on it, but to see them in 3D would be something else

2 major classics of international cinema tonight on televison, one very short, one very long.

The short one is Un Chien Andalou (1929) which is about 15 minutes long on BBC 4. It's the most famous surrealistic film of all time and was co-directed by Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali. It's a series of scenes which were intended to shock the viewer and even though it's black and white and very old, there is still at least one scene which is as shocking as a modern day horror film.

The long one is Andrei Rublev (1966). That's on Film 4 and with adverts is almost 4 hours long. In Russian, about the 15th century iconographer. Mightn't seem of interest but it's a genuinely great film and is absorbing. Although a very different film of course the closest film which you would know is Lawrence of Arabia.

Of the two, Andrei Rublev is the one to watch.

Got one of those phone calls about my Hotpoint washing machine. It was obviously dodgy as I don't have one and I cut him off. At the beginnning he said my name and wanted me to confirm that. As I have heard of the potential for criminal scammers to get you to say "Yes" I said "Speaking". It's worth getting into the habit of using that where the caller is unknown to you. There's the possibility that a criminal is recording that and uses that to prove that you've agreed to some contract. Whether that would hold up in court is questionable.

So 42nd Street opened in London last night. A clip of a rehearsal of Lullaby of Broadway. So it's a rehearsal, not on set, and not in costume:

I hope the final result is better as it's not up to the version used in the film Gold Diggers of 1935 (I can't find that version in full on Youtube only in partial segments).

Good morning everyone, it's a beautiful morning but, as you say Yogi, still a little chilly although the north wind from yesterday has certainly dropped.  I'm glad the little ones make you laugh Yogi that's exactly what my daughter says about our wee boy, such a joy aren't they?

Enjoy your day everyone

They bring their own special sunshine to our lives.

Is that the lovely Tom Lister in the leading role?

He used to be Carl King in Emmerdale, until a stupid producer decided to kill off the character.
