Summer, I don't have a water butt. There was one at my parents' house. I don't know that they ever used the rainwater from it though. They might have years ago to water the garden but I don't think they ever cleaned it so the bottom of the butt must have been extremely dirty with all the silt accumulating over the years.

Great work moonie your laundry will smell amazing

el, they recommend emptying the butt during winter as frozen water could crack the butt, i think I would get good use out of watering the garden with it- especially as I'm now on a meter

Fankoo Sweet, it certainly will

We have two plastic water butts. Ex chemical containers. Steam cleaned of course. My dad got them many many years ago

Still hanging around in the garden

Hope you and Bramble have a great day

Thanks Moonie, the sunshine has arrived

I've taken the opportunity to do my first grass mowing of the year. As I was finishing I heard a near neighbour start his mowing so it must be catching.

You are most welcome El

Still lovely, sunny and warm here

More gardening done. Looking a lot better but still a long way to go

More washing just about to go on the line. Then the weeding starts

Have a super afternoon Sunshine El and everyone else too

Moonie

Yogi, I'm glad that the engineer's been and gone and all is working fine

Squiggle, as you say it's rather grey and not aa warm as yesterday. I don't think we are going to get any snow here but I do remember being in Cardiff on work years ago at this time of year and there was snow everywhere. The Cheltenham Festival (with the Gold Cup) normally takes place at this time of year and that was ongoing then. Some of the other workers were following it as they had bets on. A lot of people from Ireland come to the Festival every year as part of their annual holidays and also tomorrow is St Patrick's Day.
