The Argos store in the centre of Gloucester is closing down but a new one is opening at the Quays shopping centre which is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The new one will have fewer items actually there but a lot more can be digitally ordered and be there within hours or be home delivered.

It's not known yet what will happen to the old store. Before Argos moved there it was a large Co-op department store. I hope it gets used because it's a well known building in Gloucester.

Evening all.

We had a very good day with PB and BB and they enjoyed making and eating the pancakes.

When I banged my head on Monday afternoon, I must have hit the top of my cheekbone or the bridge of my nose (my glasses flew off) as well as the side of my head, as I got up this morning to find I have a black eye. It has got blacker and blacker as the day has gone on, I look like I've gone ten rounds with David Hay.

Glad all went well in the pancake stakes and hope all are well.

I must be the only one to think Bellew has a chance

Hi Velvet.  I'm sure they will but, hey ho. If they are talking about me, they are leaving someone else alone (as my nana used to say)

Middle son and DiL are coming to ours on Saturday night to watch a fight on Sky- would that be the Bellew fight,

Yep. Two mouthpieces. My head says Haye but my heart says Bellew      He's the one making the move up in weight

I'll just eat the nibbles and leave them to watch the fight

Good morning everyone.

A frosty start to the day.

El, my eye isn't painful at all but it is even blacker today.

Squiggle, my glasses were knocked off but they didn't break, thank goodness.

Well done on Pancake Day 2, Summer.

I may have just eaten one of the pancakes the children made yesterday.

They took most of them home with them but there were a couple left for granny and grandad.

I've been giving the fridge a deep clean and I'm about to make a start on the oven.

Then a pile of ironing awaits.

Have a good day everyone.

Yogi19

Summer, anyone would think you liked pancakes

Squiggle, the weather forecast seems to be a bit better for my area. Tomorrow is a wash out but althhough there is rain in following days it seems to be patchier.

I have zero interest in boxing but apparently Haye and Bellew have been warned by the British Boxing Board of Control to quieten down their pre-bout verbal sparring following Haye's comments on Monday.

Yogi, I hope you don't bang your head on the fridge or oven, you don't want two black eyes The only time I ever got a black eye was when I was at junior school and got hit by a cricket ball by the man who had driven the bus to the playing field. He was invited by the school master to bowl. He then bowled a beamer. If you don't know what a beamer is then this explains it:

It's obvious why it's dangerous. At least it was slow rather than fast otherwise the result would have been a lot worse than a black eye.

Good morning everyone

Very overcast and damp here, rain forecast for much of the day.

Yogi, oddly enough that cricket ball didn't hurt as much as you might think, it was just below my eye rather than on it. You may remember that I mnetioned a year ago that I had a tooth taken out where the root had decayed in an unusual way. I and the dentist think that it might have been caused to that cricket ball.

I hope everyone has a good day

I wouldn't be surprised if the cricket ball had caused it.

Squiggle, thanks, as you say it could have been much worse. It's mot possible after all these years to be certain that it caused the damage to the tooth. My dentist does some training dental students and he agreed that the extraction was one which could have been filmed and used as part of the training he gives as it was not a routine one.

He had been in Africa in one of the poorer areas and had met a local dentist who was expert at extractions. There, the conditions are such that prevention of tooth decay doesn't really exist and extractions are the norm. That dentist was able to extract teeth far faster than here. Not to be recommended as it risks part of the bone breaking away at the same time.

Evening Yogi

The Sergeant Major is under the weather and back in her bed. And the sis is due. Hopefully it's a three day wonder but she thinks it's her heart. Hospital is out so we'll see how it goes with fingers crossed. Hence I'll be sniping this weekend. Still have faith though.

Hope all is well Chez Yogi

And you're looking forward to the fight in there. Who does Mr Y fancy/want?

Sorry Velvet, I didn't realise you had posted.

Sorry to hear your mum is poorly. I hope she is wrong and she's just under the weather. Would she let you phone a doctor, if the hospital is out?

All is well. Eldest son has been installing some security cameras for MrY - the irony is, we have nothing worth nicking.

Mr Y and middle son think/want Haye to win.

whos idea were the cameras yogi?

Evening Summer

Eldest son had put up cameras at his house, and while we were in Prague, he caught someone on camera, trying to break into their cars - so Mr Y decided it might be a good idea for us to get cameras too.

crikey! Shocking!! Good idea. Where are they from? And were they easy to install?

one of my customers recently caught a burglar on camera, and the culprit stupidly dropped his ID too!

Hubby bought them from Amazon. I think it was ÂĢ140 for four cameras, although we only needed three.

It took eldest the afternoon to install them because there was some drilling involved and a lot of up and down ladders - so more time consuming than difficult.

What a dopey burglar.

I'm about to nod off, so goodnight and sweet dreams Summer and Ros;
