GJ, that's a seriously long cycle you are going on, it will take 45 to 60 years to complete.

Roadworks in Cheltenham centre along the Oriel Road/Imperial Square section of the A46 have been ongoing for some weeks as part of changing the one way system there to a two way. At the Rodney Road junction there have always been traffic lights and there's also a light controlled pedestrian crossing in Oriel Road just before that junction.

For anyone coming out of the Regents Arcade carpark the majority of them go into Rodney Road and turn right at the lights into Imperial Square.

There's currently a little problem there. The traffic lights are down. That means that as the A46 is a very busy road, anyone coming out of the car park is having to wait until someone wants to use the pedestrian crtossing in otder to get into Imperial Square.

I hope it gets sorted out quickly. I would have thought that they would get a policeman there to direct the traffic until then.

Good morning everyone

Fairly cloudy and mild here.

The Gloucester fire services have issued a warnng to businesses about an attempted scam by someone rinigng businesses. The scammer is claiming to be from the Gloucester fire services and is wanting people to advertise in their (non-existent) magazine.

Although a local scam I know that this scam has been going on for years on a national basis. Over the years I've had that type of call. The last time I was called by someone called Ron. I told him that I knew this was a con and he actually admitted this ans told me that in their office he was called "Ron the con".

I hope everyone has a good day.

A lovely day to everyone from me too. It's sunny here.

i had a couple of texts during the week warning me to confirm my Apple ID or it would be lost!

I wonder if that could just possibly be a scam. I reckon the likelyhood is about 99.9% probable

Good morning everyone, a bit grey this morning and I think it might be a bit drizzly but as I'm firmly staying in I can't be sure.  I notice the birds are beginning to fly about with nesting materials, very early, I hope they're right and we are going to have an early spring.

Enjoy your day everyone

It could be as it's rather mild at present

Good morning, a little misty here.  Wow if you had asked me to guess I would have said that you've had Bramble for about 2 years, I can't believe she's 5!  Happy Birthday Miss Bramble, enjoy your birthday.

Poor Keira, I hope the vet can sort her ear out quickly, I bet that's uncomfortable for her poor sweet girl.  Yogi I hope all goes well at the hospital and you aren't kept waiting too long.

Enjoy your day everyone

Thank you both.

She didn't eat her breakfast when we returned from the vets but I think that might have been due to stress. I've made her some scrambled eggs and I'm just waiting on them cooling. She did dash to MrYogi's side when he opened a bag of liquorice allsorts so she hasn't lost her appetite for goodies.

We have to take her back on Friday and the vet will give her ear drops to finish off her treatment.

I was lucky with my hospital appointment and was taken early (I am always early for appointments). I was seeing a dermatologist who is treating a patch of actinic keratosis on my face. Another zapping with liquid nitrogen today should hopefully do the trick.

Yogi, i hope Keira gobbles down your scrambled egg

Years ago my mother needed the same treatment for actinic keratosis on an arm. It generally affects fair-skinned people, especially those with blue eyes, red hair, freckles and a tendency to burn easily in the sun. My mother wasn't. It's also more likely where you've been abroad in hotter sunnier countries and my mother never went abroad. But there is a possibility that her skin might have been exposed to arsenic (another cause) at a place she had worked at.

Keira scoffed the lot and is now snoozing.

I fit into the fair skinned, freckled, blue eyed category - but my hair was darkest brown/black. The dermatologist has recommended I cover up and wear a wide brimmed hat in the sun, as well as slapping on Factor 50 - especially as one of my tablets makes me more susceptible to skin cancer.

Afternoon troops

Hope all are well

Sorry to hear that Keira is under the weather Yogi but hopefully your quick actions will result in a quick clear up of her ear. Good to hear she has eaten and is now dosing. I do know some animals can find the vets quite distressing and fingers crossed the ear drops do the trick

Hope that your treatment this morning also clears things up

And nice to have you back

Thanks Velvet.

Keira gets very upset/stressed in the vets but she responds better to female vets. Fortunately, our practice has several female vets on their books and one was available to see her this morning

On a positive note, the vet says her general health is pretty good for a 12 year old retriever.

We've had a few slide shows recently Yogi - 60's on but mostly 60's. In front of my nana and papa's fire is their lovely dog in a couple of them. A Golden Retriever named Lady

They are stunning dogs with a fab nature - the boss bought them her

Aww, I had a dog called Lady when I was a girl. She wasn't a retriever though.
