I see on the Metcheck weather site that there's a 50% chance of snow in my area at noon on Christmas Day. Before anyone gets too excited, that site isn't that reliable and at the same time the forecast temperature is 10 degrees C. For that to be happen the atmospheric pressure would need to be more than 6 times normal
Didn't the dreadful Express do one of their "Millions will die in Arctic Blast!" articles?
Thats my lot - I paid someone ÂĢ80 to remove old wardrobes and general refuse having been convinced that I won't see it on a bike ride later on.
I managed to find a window technician to resite a couple of lights.
Still full of cold. On a more positive note I won the new Gerald Seymour book on the FaceBook competition
Congratulations GJ, I hope you like that book
The Express are saying it will be the worst Christmas storm ever to hit this country.

It may well be very bad weather but to describe it as the worst storm at Christmas ever and a superstorm is journalism of the worst kind designed solely to get people reading their newspapers.
Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone. Hugs for the night owls.

That's typical of the daily express next week they'll predict the"hottest summer in history" again
Evening all and sweet dreams too I hope you've each had a good day.
Mine was non stop busy, but with a pleasant pace rather than manic. I'm feeling very excited, but trying to remain calm
night yogi and summer
Good morning everyone
Clouding over here and a bit cool outside. Summer, it's always the same person (Nathan Rao) who does the Express's horror stories about the weather. The weather on Christmas Day is not looking good but for most of us, it will be just wet and very windy. The really bad weather looks at present as if it will affect the north west of Scotland.
I hope everyone has a good day
Moin! We expect another dull but mild day. After a bike ride we will chill!
Good morning everyone, cold and grey weather not very pleasant. Hope it's better where you are.
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, at this moment, it's hazy sunshine here so, although not warm, it's quite pleasant. I hope yout weather improves
I'm off to see a client to get her tax return signed.
Scientists had discoverd a jet stream but with a difference. This one is in Earth's molten core and is of liquid iron moving at 50 km a year. That seems very slow but the liquid iron is extremely dense.

It's to do with Earth's magnetic field which is why scientists are interested. It's possible that the magnetic fields could reverse in our lifteime so that north becomes south and vice versa. This does happen from time to time. They think it's happened 4 or 5 times in the last million years so about every 200,000/250,000 years.
News that the Glastonbury festival could be moving 100 miles northwards for 5 years to allow time for the fields to recover.

There's speculation on my local news website that it could be Gloucestershire but I don't think that's likely as that's under 100 miles - more like Worcestershire or Warwickshire.
Huge news about the Mary Poppins sequel in that Dick Van Dyke has joined the cast.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38377748
That article doesn't mention that he will be playing the part of Bert's son rather then Bert himself but that he will be be singing and dancing in the film.
I wonder if he'll have the same accent
Met Office's warning about the storm that the Express has talked about.
Amber warning for wind gusting up to 80/90 mph for the northerly parts of Scotland, Yellow warning for wind gusting to 60/70 mph for the rest of Scotland (including Glasgow and Edinburgh) and Northern England (and also the north west tip of Wales around Anglesey). Also raining but the warning is for the wind.
I'll be having words with Barbara when I see her next at church
Good afternoon I've just had avisot with Will Robinson! It's been a while, perhaps he just wanted to wish me a Merry Christmas
He seems to have gone now. Sorry for my short message earlier, I got interrupted. Work is getting busy, and this morning I got sworn at on the street because the shop wasn't open at 8.40am (we open at 9am)
Summer, that's totally unacceptable of that person who swore at you Do you have a notice of the opening hours visible from outside as that would make it even less acceptable.
If you didn't see last night's Celebrity Mastermind:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0876dh0
You will be staggered when you see one of the contestants. He did creditably well though. On the other hand Omid Djalili shoudl be ashamed of himself for clearly making a mockery of the general knowledge round.
Evening all.
Weather is very cold and very rainy.
It has been a PB and BB day. (Forgot to mention it last night)
Summer, what a rude man!
El, PB thought it was funny that a storm is called Barbara.
Poor BB has another cold, he needed lots of cuddles today.
I hope you've all had a good day.
Goodnight and sweet dreams, hugs for the night owls
*night owls*
sorry to have just missed you yogi! Poor BB- I hope he gets well soon. Lol @ PB
El, our shutters are completely solid, so no one can see anything from the outside until we open at 9am. We've never changed the hours, and they are clearly displayed in the shop (which you can see from outside when we're open). I think he must have been in grump about something else and decided to take it out on me
night yogi and summer
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here and rain forecast in the afternoon.
Yogi, poor BB, I hope he's better very quickly
Summer, as you say, that man must have just been in a grumpy mood and took it out on you
The client I saw yesterday morning had her young grandson there. She tolf me that he was a bit worried about Santa getting down the chimney because it had been blocked off. So I told him something I read about a couple of weeks ago. Scientists have concluded that as Santa gets all over the world in one night he must be travelling at the speed of light. The effect of that is that he shrinks in size which makes it easy to get through blocked up chimneys
I hope eveyone has a good day
Moin! Looks like being another mild day. The weather forecast isn't too bad. There may be strong winds just before Christmas but we should at least get out most days.
God morning everyone.
Weather was wet and windy overnight but has calmed down atm.
Well done El, on reassuring the little boy about Santa and the blocked chimney.
Summer, I think grumpy is some people's default setting and you just happened to be in that man 's firing line.
Enjoy your bike ride, Joe.
Have a good day everyone.
You may have already seen this clip of a 10 year old schoolgirl singing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at her school's Christmas concert as it's circulating on Facebook - it's very very good.

Good morning everyone, grey and dry this morning, heavy rain this afternoon so the forecast tells us.
Christmas present wrapping is in the offing today. That must have been very upsetting Summer I hope today is a better day with lovely cheerful customers, full of the Christmas spirit. Oh no poor BB, I hope he is fully recovered in time for Christmas.
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, I hope your present wrapping goes well A couple of years ago I used some rather paper from M&S. It was very nice and good quality but I found that there was a huge drawback. It had sparkly red glitter which came off far too easily which got everywhere. I was still spotting the odd bit of gliitter months later
A bit of a planning error at Carhaix Way in Dawlish

You may remember my postings on Kev Brady from Gloucester swimming all down the river Severn.
He's off again, this time he's paddling down the longest river in Sri Lanka. That's 208 miles long but that's too short for him so he'll then paddle around the island, an additional 800 miles.

Velvet, that's a nuisance
You might want to look at some of the results on this Amazon search to see it that helps.

Evening all, just a flying visit.
El, that panda clip is brilliant, it made me RL lol
Velvet, we had a similar problem with the tv in our bedroom. Handy eldest son managed to get the scart lead in, and the tv on the wall - but it isn't completely flush.
I'm about to start the present wrapping. Wish me luck!
Goodnight and sweet dreams. Hugs for the night owls.
*night owls* it's been a much better day today, lots of cheerful people around
yogi, good luck with the wrapping, I'm guessing you have lots to do
sweet dreams everyone, I hope you're keeping warm & dry
night yogi and summer summer sorry I missed you
Good morning I'm determined to say hello to you all early today!
I'm just exercising my snooze button
i hope you all have a lovely day
Good morning everyone
Sunny here at present.
Yogi, I kope your wrapping went well
Summer, I'm glad you had lots of cheerful people yesterday
I hope everyone has a good day
