Good morning everyone

Cloudy here but the rain has stopped though there may be a few showers.

Yogi, I hope you have a good day with PB and BB

That BBC Jazz channel was a temporary channel in collaboration with Jazz FM and is now off air. However the programmes can be listened to online:

I hope everyone has a good day and that Squiggle hasn't floated away on the flood water

El Loro

I see that on the Talking Pictures TV channel on Friday is a short 1931 film called The Stolen Jools (at 23:35) Although it's been on a Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy DVD it's not really one of their films though they do appear in it. It was made as a promotional film to raise funds for the National Variety Artists tuberculosis sanatorium.

It's packed with very brief appearances by quite a few well known actors and actresses of the time so it may be worth recording just to see how many you recognise.

El Loro

Also on that channel is a 1971 film called Quest for Love (Thursday December 1st 21:40). It's semi-science fiction in the sense that a scientist wakes up in an alternative reality but essentially it's more of a romantic story. It stars Tom Bell and Joan Collins. I've never seen it but it's one I've wanted to catch for years. Apparently Joan Collins' character in the film is a nice gentle person and is unlike the roles that she's better known for.

Squiggle, I'm glad you didn't float away . It's grey but dry here though there's been a bit of drizzle.

Summer, Radio 3 does have the odd jazz programme as well as its classical. I think there tends to be a couple of programmes on Saturdays. George Gershwin composed music which can be regarded as classical and as jazz - his Rhapsody in Blue for instance and his Porgy and Bess can be regarded as a jazz opera. Though as they are scored they are unlikely to be improvised so aren't pure jazz.

El Loro

Evening all.

We had a great day with the grandchildren.

BB was a happy chappy. He and PB get on really well together.

PB has been practicing the Nativity at nursery and sang Rock a bye Jesus to me - it was so sweet.

I had ordered some children's craft kits for her (unlike Summer, I am not gifted re crafting and need help!) so PB spent the afternoon making Christmas cards and nativity scenes for herself and BB. They actually looked really nice and she was very pleased with them.

Joe, I hope your son appreciates all your hard work.

El, that fog bow is beautiful.

Squiggle, I hope your weather improves soon.

Summer, I'm not keen on jazz music.

Too wet to cycle today so we walked together round the villages. I've measured up to build wardrobes then it's decoration some new carpets and beds. A superior wet weather programme!

I'm shattered already and am picking up the youngest from school tomorrow.

Even though I don't always comment I'm always interested in your news.

Have a good day everyone!

Garage Joe

Good morning everyone

Another cloudy day here though probably dry.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a great day with PB and BB A very long time ago I was a shepherd in a Nativity play at school - that's about it in terms of my acting career

GJ, that was a good productive day

Summer, may be you'll dream about snow tonight

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning everyone

A very frosty morning.

Joe, you must be as busy now, as you were before you retired.

Squiggle, I'll keep you updated on the nativity. I love them too but sadly there is only room for mums and dads to attend. Would you like to see a pic of PB's craft nativity scenes she made yesterday, I'll send it to you.

Summer, PB is loving the nativity rehearsals. If she doesn't get the part of Mary, they better let her be the narrator - a non speaking part won't go down well.

El, my sons were shepherds too - with the obligatory tea towel on their heads.

I've dropped Keira off at the groomers. Her last appointment had to be postponed as she had that respiratory infection.

Have a good day everyone.
