Goodnight and sweet dreams Ros
Good morning everyone
Colder here than the last few days but no frost.
I will spend that ÂĢ5 wisely
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, really horrible weather here, sleety showers all night long. It's so dark I've had to put the light on.
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, It's not nice when it's weather like that. I hope it gets better for you during the day
Good morning Jack Frost has finally turned up! He's brought the sun with him too
Good morning everyone.
We had sleet and snow last night but it didn't lie. Summer, Jack Frost has been here too.
lol El, I'm sure you will spend that ÂĢ5 wisely.
Squiggle, I hope your weather improves.
Have a good day everyone.
From Florida, (The ABC news has added music to this clip which was soundless)
2 interesting and very different news items from Mexico over the last day or so.
Firstly. the discovery of a third pyramid embedded in the famous Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza.

Secondly, scientists can now describe how the asteroid that wiped out the dinosuars produced its huge crater which is off Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

Well done to that young boy.
Good to see his mum giving him lots of cuddles to thank him from saving his baby brother from a nasty fall.

Sorry Velvet, I didn't realise you were still on the forum last night.
Good morning everyone.
A damp start to the day, weatherwise. Tomorrow is supposed to be frosty.
Hope your day goes well, Summer.
Not yet sure what our plans are for today but hope it's going to be relaxing.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone it's been ridiculous weather. We've had torrential downpours, thunder and lightning, thick sleet piling up on the windows. We've still got heavy clouds so I wonder what's next.
Yogi I hope you have a lovely relaxing day and I hope everyone's got better weather than me.
Enjoy your day everyone
Yogi, I hope you get the relaxing day you wished for
Squiggle, hopefully not frogs or locusts in your area
Church treasurer for a church in the Forest of Dean area sent to prison for stealng church funds to fund his gambling habit.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-e...nd-somerset-38028431
(BBC put this in Somerset rather than Gloucestershire )
The article doesn't mention that the money came from the remainder of a past renovation fund so this impacts on future repair work. The man had tried to confess to the police twice before he was found out but the police said they would come back to him. The oddest thing was that he was not a cheque signatory but was able to make online transfers which was why he was able to do this. When I was a church treasurer cheques had to be signed by two people.
Squiggle, I hope your weather improves.
The dampness I thought I saw on the paths, pavements and roads up here was actually black ice! Guess who went out to the garage and ended up on her backside?!
Apart from a grazed foot, I'm fine - thankfully my butt has plenty of padding.
I wasn't the only one having problems (and I was in the privacy of my back garden) whereas one of my neighbours was in full view of everyone, as he an attempted to get from his car to his front door on all fours.

Gambling can be a real curse for some people.
Yogi, I'm glad you got off with just a grazed foot As you say, gambling can be a real curse for some people. My mother had a friend whose husband was a gambling addict and lost a lot of money on bridge.
Luckily the weather was good for us. My son now has a new water supply complete with accessible stopcock! We are expecting extreme weather tomorrow.

GJ, I'm glad your son's water supply has been completed
It's forecast to be thoroughly wet in the early hours of tomorrow in my area but the worst of Storm Angus is forecast to be elsewhere. Monday is forecast to be a lot wetter in my area - 35 mm of rain.
You may have heard or read news that some wealthy people who invested money in a film scheme in order to save lots of tax are facing the possibility of massive tax bills which could be many times more than their original investment. On the surface that seems impossible, but this article by a firm of solicitors tries to explain it.

That sort of scheme is something I have always avoided and I have no clients who are of the sort who would have gone into them.

If I ever put on ice skates, I"d look like Bambi on ice.

As long as the foot hasn't flared up
The foot is fine, Velvet. Some of my grandson's Sudocrem and a couple of plasters and it was sorted.
Have you had a relaxing Saturday, Velvet?
velvet donkey posted:Yep the oven was sorted at 10 - another ÂĢ100, but well spent - shops and four paws all done by half twelve, watched the Man U Arsenal game and then went back to my bed till half five
Got a boxing bout later in the wee small hours after I've robbed the Tesco Express
Pleased the oven is sorted.
Sounds like a good day, all round.
lol Happy pickings at the Tesco Express and hope the boxing lasts a good few rounds.
