I eventually saw the last episode of War & Peace yesterday evening. I've seen three versions, the Henry Fonda/Audrey Hepburn film, the Sergey Bondarchuk Russian film version and the recent BBC series which is the one I was referring to. I haven't seen the earlier BBC series with Anthony Hopkins. Of the three versions I've seen this was the best as it was more digestible than the Russian one. It's easy to pick holes with the series as it had to pick and choose from the book otherwise it would have been 100 hours long. What struck me was that it did attempt to have something much philosophical than just war and romance.

Good evening, my 3G symbol reappeared late in the afternoon but alas, nothing would actually load. I managed to connect my emails for a short time but then it went off again.

Its EE, my friends on Vodafone aren't experiencing any problems

i hope you've all enjoyed the day

the plan for Keira sounds great, I hope she's enjoying her little meals and that she gets nice & strong to fight off the chest infection

Good. Me too

It won't take me to tell how resilient the four paw drives can be

Thank heavens they are!

You always thank the heavens and the guardians Yogi

 Indeed we can

Have you got your oven fixed yet?

Not yet. It's functional but just not as we know it. Maybe next week when someone brings up the dreaded word - meringue

lol You're working with its idiosyncrasies then?

Oooh, I love meringues! I've never attempted to make them.

Good morning everyone, we've had a fair bit of rain overnight and the clouds are still looming very heavy overhead.

Keira is such a good girl and I hope she is back to her old self really quickly Yogi.  That doesn't sound very encouraging from EE Summer.  My family is all on Vodafone because that's who my daughter is with.  She bought a phone first and we've all followed on, it does mean with Vodafone Family that we can all phone each other free of charge.  I don't know whether there's a similar scheme with EE.  Anyway I hope the service improves sharpish.  I hope we hear from Moonie today.

Enjoy your day everyone

Highlight of my morning so far has been filling in my annual return which is required by my accountancy institute. Although it's 28 pages long quite a lot of it is already brought forward from the previous year's return. It's done though I won't file it until mid month.

Yogi, I'm glad Keira continues to improve

Looks as if everyone here is getting some rain today at some point in time.

Moin! It's a lovely morning and we should be getting the bikes out but may listen to Pop Quiz first.

We had the youngest yesterday ( and today) exhausted!

I'm taking the eldest to Manchester for the football tomorrow!

I managed to update the accounts yesterday and have put them away until February.

Lots of regards to everyone's doggies and 'phones - I hope you all get sorted out.

I hope they're not bothering Keira, how is she today?

She is out for the count and not bothered at all.  She is much better. As soon as she heard her bowl going onto the worktop, she was straight into the kitchen for her food - four times a day! She is in for a shock when she goes back to her normal twice a day. Seriously though, she has more energy, looks happy again and even wanted to play with her toys, so she is definitely on the mend.

Watching Gogglebox and they are watching Michael Buble - and all love him.

It's awful isn't it, he's so young!  I hope he can fight it and I'm sure he'll be seen by the best doctors possible.

That should sort Keira's chest out then, she's doing so much better already

 He'll get the best care.

Yes, she is much improved, thank goodness.

I've got to go search for a birthday present. Wish me luck!

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Summer.

Night owl hugs.
