Good morning everyone, very cloudy here too EL.  Funnily enough I woke up about an hour later than I normally would, although right on time with my bedside clock which changed the time automatically in the night.

I hope you enjoyed your party Summer.  Yes thanks Yogi, not a drop of rain so far this weekend.

Enjoy your day everyone

I've been awake since 6am as my body clock forgot to go back an hour.

Yogi19

Good morning I had forgotten the clock change! Thank goodness for devices changing themselves, all I need to do is change the time on my boiler

Yogi I hope your sinus trouble soon clears up, it's so horribly painful

El, my choice Halloween cake would be French fancies. They simply change them to Orange rather than pink, yellow & brown

what are you all doing today? I can't let Bramble off the lead yet but we did a nice little walk last night. I enjoyed the down time at first but now feel like I've been grounded! I think I need to start my day with a workout DVD to get some blood flowing

Squiggle, that's good that your body clock changed that quickly. I'm like Yogi in that mine hasn't yet.

Yogi, as Summer says I hope your sinuses clear up soon. It's not very pleasant when they flare up. In my part of the country it's commonplace due being in a valley.

Summer, I wonder if those orange French fancies taste of pumpkin?

A unique animated film is due out next year called Loving Vincent which is about the last year of Vincent Van Gogh's life. It's unique as every frame is hand painted by artists using oil paint in his style.

And if you spot someone you recognise you would be right. It's Eleanor Tomlinson (from Poldark.) Also another character is played by Aidan Turner.

How was your tea? And we're you happy with strictly's result? I'm very happy

Tea was good and youngest son and fiancee were very happy that I had made roast beef and yorkies.

I think the judges chose the right person to stay - no idea why she ended up in the bottom 2.

BTW, I posted in the Strictly thread about registering on the BBC website and voting.

I loved her paso, and it's not often that I enjoy a paso. I loved danny's last week

lol I wonder why it's called that, sausages don't even look like toads and yorkshires don't have holes in them

I loved Danny's paso, shame he mucked up his foxtrot this week.

lol I know, it's such an odd name.

I love the babies too! They were great this week

do you vote for the same couple each week, or your favourite on the night?

I vote for the one (of my many favourites) who I think may be in trouble, so this week I voted to save Greg.

I'm glad, I like Greg too

me too, sweet dreams yogi and any other night owls too

Good morning all

Weather is dry and feels quite mild. I hope the fog lifts, El.

Good luck with the gardening, Joe.

Ros, have you got a favourite in Strictly?

We might try to get some Christmas gifts for the grandchildren today. DiL has given us some ideas so we might get an early start (for a change!)

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, we had a very slight mist which has just about gone.  There's hardly a breeze but the leaves are dropping very quickly now, it looks quite pretty with them drifting down.

I hope your sinuses are better this morning Yogi.  A few years ago I was moaning about my blocked up sinuses to the nurse at the clinic when she was taking blood for a blood test.  She gave me the best advice ever, she just said garlic capsules clear sinuses, and they do!

Toad in the hole is delicious, my hubby used to make a delicious one.

Enjoy your day everyone

New ÂĢ1 coin coming in from March 2017.

Transitional period of 6 months when both current and new will be in general use then the current one will be phased out.
After autumn 2017 businesses should stop accepting current coins or passing them on to customers.
Businesses will need to check if their machines will accept the new ones.

The new ones are 12 sided so reminiscent of the old pre-decimal 3 pence coin to the new ones are slightly larger.

I like the look of that coin. I'm old enough to remember 3d coins.

Yogi19

Yogi, I too remember the old 3d coins.

Although those who remember the pre decimal system, for those who don't the d stood for denarii. We had ÂĢ s d whcih was the abbreviation for librae, solidi and denarii. The libra was a Roman weight (roughly 3/4 of a pound). Solidi, Latin for solid, and denarii were Roman small coins. The ÂĢ sign is effectively a capital L with a slash to show that it's an abbreviation.

Yogi, I suspected you didn't have hot curries

Aww such a lovely story I thought I would share it in here, I hope it posts OK for those who aren't on FB

I'm not on FB and it worked fine for me.

Squiggle, I defy anyone to read it and not feel moved. I was a sobbing mess (in a good way) by the end of it.

Our Christmas shopping trip has been postponed as Mr Y is feeling a bit off colour.
