Update on my car. They won't be finished today so I hope to pick it up sometime tomorrow afternoon. The basic work is done but a couple of tyres need to be replaced (it's down to the appalling state of the roads in my area and the lack of money available to repair them). Also the key fob no longer works so needs to be replaced.

Crikey! That road is shocking

I hope the repairs go smoothly El, and that they aren't too costly

I'm in the bake off thread

Hi Sweet

Haha! You know it I've found another 4!

Its my last adventure for a couple of weeks though, so I made sure I enjoyed it

did you know baz got a new carpet too? And how does it feel?!

Are there many more to find?

I do know about Baz's new carpets. I think she is very happy with them.

Mine feels very nice.

Good morning everyone, another beautiful morning with loads of blue sky.  Two military helicopters have just flown by, in line.  Wonder where they are going, nothing showed up on my aircraft tracking app.

I hope all goes well with blood tests, results, cars and boilers and maybe even a surprise visit from the brickie for Moonie.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, military helicopters are not unusual in my area but that's because the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (NATO) is based a couple of miles away. (By one of those strange coincidences, it was originally based at Bielefeld which GJ went through recently). Before the ARRC moved here, the site was previously a RAF base. Would your aircraft tracking app include military flights?

The results from the doctor were satisfactory. I was offered statins but haven't taken them up for the time being as my cholesterol levels are at the lower end of risk and there's no history of heart or stroke problems in my family.

Got another call about my call just before I went to the doctors. Although the work has been done, there's an ongoing problem with the locking system on the driver's door. That's having to be replaced so any hope of a cheap service have gone. I did jokingly ask my doctor if he could treat my car but he declined

Afternoon all. It's a cool and sunny day.

I've done housework and been grocery shopping.

Welcome home, Joe, and good luck with the bloods.

El, I'm glad your check up and boiler service went well and hope you get your car back soon.

Oooh Squiggle, that aircraft tracking app sounds interesting.

Summer, are you back at work today?

I wonder if Moonie is out on swan watch today?

Have a good day everyone.

Good luck El I'm sure that like me, you put aside money for car repairs etc

unfortunately, I had to use some of mine to pay a parking fine that I got yesterday I inadvertently parked outside of the boundary of a space, even though there were no lines to park between. When taking a closer look, there are small markers in each back corner. It's utterly ridiculous, but rules are rules so I have paid the fine. At least I got a 50% reduction for early payment

I think there are bits of the allied rapid reaction force all over. When we were in Lille a few weeks ago we visited the citadel which claims to be the administrative HQ. We had never seen such a complex fortress before!

Good morning everyone, very cloudy here too and although the forecast is dry I wouldn't be surprised if we had a drop or two of rain.

I have an app for planes and one for ships Yogi. The one for planes is called Flightradar 24 and shows every plane overhead, which company ie BA, Virgin etc and if you click on it it will show where it's come from and its destination. It shows helicopters as well.

Enjoy your day everyone
