Update on my car. They won't be finished today so I hope to pick it up sometime tomorrow afternoon. The basic work is done but a couple of tyres need to be replaced (it's down to the appalling state of the roads in my area and the lack of money available to repair them). Also the key fob no longer works so needs to be replaced.
Moonie, it's one road in particular which is about 2 miles long.
It's like that for much of the way. The council does patchwork repairs at times but that's a waste of time and money as the road needs a complete resurfacing.

Good grief El, that shocking
Crikey! That road is shocking
I hope the repairs go smoothly El, and that they aren't too costly
evening all I hope you've each had a good day
I'm in the bake off thread

Happy baking
Pleased to hear it how are the swans doing? I saw lots of geese today
i feel sleepy, I'm trying hard to stay awake during bake off
Evening all.
El, I hope you get your car back tomorrow and it isn't too costly.
I hope Joe is safely home by now.
Squiggle, I like the idea of a snow dog naughty step.
Summer and Moonie, have you had a good day?
Hi yogi yes I have, I bet you can't guess what I've been up to, again
how was your day?

That's good.
Would it be something to do with snowdogs?
My day was good, thanks.
Haha! You know it I've found another 4!
Its my last adventure for a couple of weeks though, so I made sure I enjoyed it

Are there many more to find?
I do know about Baz's new carpets. I think she is very happy with them.
Mine feels very nice.
You're carpet buddies!
I've found 27/61, which is apparently 44%. There's a huge amount in Newcastle though so it won't take me long to increase that percentage
I've got to go get ready for bed, so wishing you very sweet dreams yogi
leaving night owl hugs for everyone else

Gosh, there are quite a few then. I bet you are looking forward to finding the rest.

I'm going to get off too. Goodnight and sweet dreams, Summer.
Hugs for any night owls.
Yes I was home before four thanks! I've been sorting a few things out.
Good morning everyone
A lot cloudier here today but forecast to remain dry.
Today I have an appointment at the doctors for the results (should be routine), followed by the boiler annual check, then hopefully collect my car.
I hope everyone has a good day
Moin! I also need to visit the quacks and get my bloods done.
i hope all goes well with your Doctors visit and car El Loro.
Nice start to the day here. Enjoy your day everyone.
Good morning everyone, another beautiful morning with loads of blue sky. Two military helicopters have just flown by, in line. Wonder where they are going, nothing showed up on my aircraft tracking app.
I hope all goes well with blood tests, results, cars and boilers and maybe even a surprise visit from the brickie for Moonie.
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, military helicopters are not unusual in my area but that's because the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (NATO) is based a couple of miles away. (By one of those strange coincidences, it was originally based at Bielefeld which GJ went through recently). Before the ARRC moved here, the site was previously a RAF base. Would your aircraft tracking app include military flights?
The results from the doctor were satisfactory. I was offered statins but haven't taken them up for the time being as my cholesterol levels are at the lower end of risk and there's no history of heart or stroke problems in my family.
Got another call about my call just before I went to the doctors. Although the work has been done, there's an ongoing problem with the locking system on the driver's door. That's having to be replaced so any hope of a cheap service have gone. I did jokingly ask my doctor if he could treat my car but he declined
My boilerman has just rung - he's ahead of schedule so he can come now. That's useful as that will free up the rest of the day
Good morning another glorious sunny day here, with no sign of a frost yet.
El, you are highly productive this morning
Summer, as you say it's been a productive morning My boiler service is now done with no problems found. Now it's a case of waiting to hear about my car.
Afternoon all. It's a cool and sunny day.
I've done housework and been grocery shopping.
Welcome home, Joe, and good luck with the bloods.
El, I'm glad your check up and boiler service went well and hope you get your car back soon.
Oooh Squiggle, that aircraft tracking app sounds interesting.
Summer, are you back at work today?
I wonder if Moonie is out on swan watch today?
Have a good day everyone.
Just had the call to say my car has been sorted out so I'm on my way to collect it (and pay the bill which won't be small, luckily for me that's more of a pain rather than a problem)
Good luck El I'm sure that like me, you put aside money for car repairs etc
unfortunately, I had to use some of mine to pay a parking fine that I got yesterday I inadvertently parked outside of the boundary of a space, even though there were no lines to park between. When taking a closer look, there are small markers in each back corner. It's utterly ridiculous, but rules are rules so I have paid the fine. At least I got a 50% reduction for early payment

Yes I am but it's been fairly quiet so I've got lots of other little behind the scenes jobs done
did you buy cake?
Thanks Summer
It's too easy to get parking fines though I haven't had any. Sometimes I think they make the markings or signs barely noticeable to catch people out to raise money
Summer and El, I agree with you both about parking signs/markings.
El, I'm glad you got your car back.
No cakes today, Summer
Goodnight and sweet dreams, everyone.

I think there are bits of the allied rapid reaction force all over. When we were in Lille a few weeks ago we visited the citadel which claims to be the administrative HQ. We had never seen such a complex fortress before!
*night owls* sweet dreams lovely people I hope you all had a lovely day
Good morning everyone
Thick clouds here and a bit of light rain is in the forecast.
I hope everyone has a good day
Shown on The One Show yesterday this lyrical look at a meadow is worth watching.
Moin! It's a bit dull. The temperatures are steadily falling and it will be time to put my sandals away for the year soon.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Good morning everyone, very cloudy here too and although the forecast is dry I wouldn't be surprised if we had a drop or two of rain.
I have an app for planes and one for ships Yogi. The one for planes is called Flightradar 24 and shows every plane overhead, which company ie BA, Virgin etc and if you click on it it will show where it's come from and its destination. It shows helicopters as well.
Enjoy your day everyone

I'm so sorry Velvet, I missed this post last night.
She is coming across as a right numpty.
Good morning everyone.
A cool and cloudy start to the day.
Squiggle, those apps sound good.
Planning a trip to Costco later. I wonder if they'll have started selling Christmas stuff yet?
Have a good day everyone.
