Good morning it's raining heavily here and apparently there was a thunderstorm in the early hours, which bramble & I must have slept through

i hope you've had a good night's sleep each, what are everyone's plans for today & the weekend ahead?

yogi I hope you have a fun day with the little ones, we'll look forward to an update on them later

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Yogi, it's good to see you are home safe and enjoyed your break

I bet Keira was glad to see you again

Have a lovely day with PB and BB

Sweet, glad you are home safe too and enjoyed you holibob

I just bet Bramble was pleased to see you

All over you like a rash, I bet

You both must have been really tired to sleep through a thunderstorm

Hi to El, squiggle, Velvet and Joe

We have a heavy shower here currently so I shall not be venturing very far until it subsides

I have plenty of *essentials* in so no need to go out if I can't or don't want too

Have a great day everyone no matter what the weather throws at you

Moonie

Summer, it may be that the thunder wasn't directly over you so it would have sounded more like rumbles rather than crashes. It looks as if the heavy rain eases away over the next hour or so for your area.

Moonie, the chances are that the weather will be better for you this afternoon if you do decide to venture outside.

Workwise, it's quite quiet at present. Seeing a client to get his signature on his tax rturn this afternoon and working on another client's accounts which are quite small and straightforward. It is the calm before the storm though as the really big job which takes weeks is imminent. May get the phone call to say they are ready today or one day next week. I know they are nearly ready.

El Loro

Saint, it's unusual to be sent a tax return which you have not requested. Were you sent a tax return through the post or have you received an email or text message?

If it's via email or text message it is likely to be a scam. HMRC have examples of such scams:
https://www.gov.uk/government/...and-customs-examples

HMRC do send genuine emails but not for tax returns. HMRC article about this without some further advice on recognising phishing scams.
https://www.gov.uk/government/...sing-phishing-emails

You could ring the HMRC self assessment help line 0300 200 3310. They would ask for yout national insurance number and/or what is called a UTR (Self assessment unique tax reference). That's a 10 digit number. If it's a genuine tax return I would expect that to be shown on the return. A warning though that it takes a long time to get through on that number.

El Loro

Saint, It's a genuine HMRC webpage.

I would have expected you to have been sent a P800 tax calculation showing how much is to be refunded. It's not the same thing as a tax return.

You can only claim the refund back through these new "Personal Tax Accounts" if you've set up a Government Gateway account. If you haven't then you will need to go through the registration process.

Good evening thanks moonie it's lovely to have you back and I hope all is well with you

yogi your day sounds like fun

saint, good luck with your tax return I've just signed mine ready to submit, apparently I'm due a rebate too! That was a pleasant surprise, but I'm not counting on it because the last one was an error and they wanted it back lol

Good evening peeps

It seems you ladies have had a good day

Mine has been quiet but fine

Its been cold and dry after a wet start. It's really quite a lot colder now

Evening Moonie

A quiet day sounds good to me.

There is a definite autumnal feel to the weather now.

PB was singing a song today that she had learnt at nursery, called Autumn Leaves.

You are luck to have two such lovely grandchildren Yogi

Oh, was Keira glad to see you when you returned?

I'm blessed, Moonie.

Keira was very happy to see me but had been thoroughly spoilt by my mum and dad. My dad takes her on lots of walks (shorter ones now she is nearly 12) and my mum gives her little treats.

12? She is quite old then?

But still behaves like a puppy sometimes, I bet

It's good to have someone I trust to look after her.

Yes, she is a good age for a retriever - average age is 10-12. She has a little stiffness in her joints when she gets up after a long sleep and she can't walk as far as she used to, but otherwise she is fine.

It's funny to watch her and Harvey get together, they play fight the way they used to when they were pups but after a couple of minutes they are shattered.

Sorry I vanished! I'm still awake, for a change, just a lot going on; I've upset my tummy eating too much giant toblerone from the airport. Also, my brother in law has had a biking accident so my sister is keeping me updated (he's badly injured but is awake & doing ok). My cousin has split up from her boyfriend and has invited me to replace him on a skiing holiday next year it's also 100 sleeps until Xmas and several friends are texting me

yogi, sweet dreams I'm glad you've had a good day. The little ones sounds fab as ever and Autumn education is a brill idea!

Moonie i I hope you've had a lovely evening, I'm sure you're looking forward to the sports tomorrow as usual

sweet at dreams hugs for you all
