Good morning everyone, a nice bright morning here. I am glad you are enjoying the coffee and walnut cake EL.  I loved that little snip of an advert.  It brought back something I had completely forgotten about, when my daughter was tiny she was playing with the phone and randomly dialled a number.  Thank goodness she got through to a lovely elderly lady and they had a lovely chat, I think it made both their days.

I hope the blood test goes well Yogi.  I hope that at  Mr Yogi's eye test all went  well, I hate those drops they put in.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, there was the time some 30 years ago when I rang a friend who lived in Gloucester and worked in Cheltenham. I got through to him and we had a long chat about nothing in particular and at times saying silly things. Eventually it dawned on me that I had used the Cheltenham dialling code plus his Gloucester home phone number and had been talking with a complete stranger He did sound exactly the same as my friend and must have had a similar personality. I didn't let on and ended the call saying something like I must go now.

Good afternoon all.

Showery weather up here.

My blood test went okay but by the time I got back to the car, there was blood dripping down my arm. The tiny plaster the nurse had put on couldn't cope with it, so I had to press a couple of tissues on until it eased off. Never had that happen before.

Summer, I'm glad your minding went well.

Squiggle, what a sweet story.

lol El, I wonder who that guy thought he was talking to?

El, I would love a piece of coffee and walnut cake right now! But I shall resist.

Have a good day everyone.

I'll be keeping an eye out for this adventure game when it comes out (scheduled by the end of the year):

It's the first one from Pewter Games which is based in Ireland. Although it's not his game the excutive producer is Charles Cecil who was behind the Broken Sword series of adventure games. There's so few adventure games coming out now that this may be the highlight of the year (with the one exception being Syberia 3 also scheduled for release around the same time).

Not sure if either will be available other than on download from the likes of Steam though.

Summer, my concept of GJ's book is not necessarily true but it's still an intriguing idea

It's an excellent idea with mebbees a bit of gardening thrown in.

Over the years I've produced some rather rushed and badly written football articles for a fanzine. Many is the crime I have committed against the English Language but in my defence I only had a grade six pass after extra coaching.

Mrs Jer is an expert at converting her books to kindle and has promised to produce/publish my attempt which has the added advantage of including all (or some) of the photos I have taken on various away  trips. It will take a few weeks yet since I'm rewriting it all and having her proof read.

With the news about microbeads to be banned from cosmetic products and toothpastes if you want to check if something contains them or not:
https://www.beatthemicrobead.org/en/product-lists

Red list the most damaging
Amber list damaging
Green list no microbeads
There's also a green list of products with a standard logo to say no microbeads. Those are included in the main green list and at present only Neal's Yard Remedies products have that logo,

Good morning everyone, the forecast for today is not good but just a little misty rain at the moment.

Thank you for that link EL, I had been meaning to check and am pleased that nothing I use contains those microbeads.  Who on earth would think that it's a good idea to use them in the first place?

I am - finally - reading The Birds and the Bees by Milly Johnson.  I love this book, I love Adam and Stevie and Danny.  The book has been on my shelf for years, I am so glad I finally picked it up.  What a good author she is.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, I hadn't known about those microbeads until they got in the news. My toothpaste doesn't contain them and I doubt if anything else I use has them either. Somebody must have thought they were a good idea. I'm glad you are liking your book

Here's what I bought today for everyone.

No prizes for guessing the fruits used

Evening all is very busy day here, I got in my pj's just in time to watch strictly

el, I only use products that do not contain microbe ads and this decision is long overdue IMO. Better late than never, but thank god they are finally banning them!

Squiggle, I loved that book! It's one of the latter Milly's that I read too, but one of her finest IMO. I hope you continue to enjoy it
