Good afternoon a very busy morning here, lots of people are off work and just out & about

aw thank you all, I'm glad you like my little furry friend Moonie, I may redirect just the lower corner of that little path I'm pleased it's rained all night, that will have done the plants the world of good.

If only we could do the same for our squiggle! I hope you are resting well and can bare to have some distraction on the tv or radio

Sweet, I hope your afternoon is not as busy

All new areas need a little *tweeking*

Keep a good eye on your plants as the temperature is set to rise over the next week or so. I have just watched the weather forecast and they say it could reach 30 degrees by midweek next week

My guess is Bramble won't be to pleased with all that heat either

The sweetest dessert I ever had was in a local Italian restaurant years ago. Effectively it was a mound of raisins in a thick crust of brown sugar. I had some but did not get close to eating it all Probably about 20,000 calories and just looking at it would make your teeth rot. A banofee pie or a pavlova was nothing in comparison.

If you want to make some, just get a bag of brown sugar, a bag of raisins, open them up, put them in a bowl, mix them up, and start eating. Easy to make and no cooking required. Just have a bucket handy though, you'll need it.

Good morning everyone

Dull here but no rain yet

Yogi, does out and about mean going anywhere near a cake shop?

Have a great day everyone

Mr Yogi bought two individual banoffee pies. I don't like them, so they are easy to resist.

*goes too look up what a banoffee is and if I would like it*

Evening troops

Normally I would say I hope all are well but we're a troop down. Squiggs - I send you all the best and hope this can lift sometime soon for you

Nout really to report. A bleak summer and a bit of touch up emulsion - no wallpaper these days - find it easier. And not a fan of the Shand  Kydds

Moons - I hope the shed is under control and your expletive free today    , El - hope all is well with the clients and yourself and Yogi - make sure you get your own back and buy two cakes that Mr Y isn't too keen on

I do like a banoffee though although a full fat Coffee Tower rules

The more rotten wood I take out the worse it looks Velvet

Thinking of hiring a JCB for five minutes. That would be all it would take to trash it

I hope all is well in your world and you have no rotten sheds lurking

Yogi, I'm always a bit wary about banoffee pies as they are at the extreme end of what I can tolerate with sweetness.

They are sickly sweet and the banana feels slimey to me.

Yep. And they go down a treat

Got the grand kids tomorrow?

No grandkids this week, they've been away for a few days. I've been minding their dog instead.

Night night again.

Thanks Velvet, I hope all is well for you

Moonie, if you can imagine a very rich creamy dessert based on banana and toffee (hence banoffee) with cream, that's it. The toffee is made from boiling condensed milk until it becomes thick and sticky (rather like dulce de leche which is popular in many countries).

Pass on that then El

Evening Velvet and Moonie, I hope you've both had a good day

On the subject of sheds, Mr Yogi bought a metal one, which my sons put up - it was a nightmare and they nearly throttled him for not buying a wooden one.

Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone.

Hugs for any night owls.

I think if I bought one it would have to be put up by the company I had it off

Yogi, I best you miss PB and BB but Harv and Kiera are a bit of a bonus

Hope the root canal goes as painless as it can. It you are in to much pain, Velvet and I will *pay the dentist a visit*

There's a well known statue of Gustav Holst (The Planets) in Cheltenham where he lived.

At present it looks like this:

There are two differences. There's the obvious one which I think is intentional - the addition of a red umbrella.

Then there's the less obvious one which is not intentional and it's not known who the cuprit is, it's either a prank or a seagull has flown off with the missing item. It's not the conductor's baton in the other hand.

Yesterday at the filling station I saw a very old VW being filled up. A very old small caravan was attached.

I know it was very old as the number on the plate was of the very old type where there were no letter suffixes or prefixes, ie before 1963. Nowadays you normally see those numbers on classic veteran cars or where a cherished number plate had been bought and put on a car. That was not the case here as the car and caravan really showed their age.

During this last week HMRC has been churning out lots of consultation documents relating to various taxes. What is slightly interesting is that so far the consultation papers into the proposed quarterly digital accounts reporting have so far not been published. The consultation papers were due to have been published in the spring but were delayed in part due to the Panama papers and partly because of the EU referendum so we were expecting them to be published after the referendum. Of course we now have a new chancellor so there are a couple of possibilities. One being that he wants to go through the proposed consultation papers before giving HMRC the go-ahead. The other being that as the Treasury is going to be snowed under with sorting out all the financial impilcations, negotiations, and law changes required from Brexit and are going to be stretched by overhauling to tax system to cope with digital account reporting.

I'm back from the dentist. He kept his word and I felt no pain during the procedure. My mouth is still numb from the injections (currently drinking Bovril through a straw!) so let's hope there is no pain when the numbness wears off.

*stands Velvet down and puts the 'tools' back into storage*

(that is a reference to my post on the previous page, re Yogi's dental visit)

I hope you stay pain free Yogi

But Bovril?

Yuk yuk
