Not a bad morning, blue sky, few white fluffy clouds, still a bit of a breeze. It sounds like it's going to be a busy happy day for most of us, I am feeling a little better today than yesterday, just something that is a left-over from my treatment for cancer, it comes and goes.  You are never quite the same when you've had something as major as that.

Enjoy your day everyone

We have a few spots of rain here

squiggle, I hope you feel better soon

Yogi, enjoy your *going with the flow* day

El, remakes are never as good as the originals and I can't see this being an exception, tbh...

Joe have a great day with your grandson. I hope the rain stats away

Sweet, I hope the rest of your day is a little less hectic

Hope you are feeling better as the days go by Squiggle. xx

Since someone has mentioned Dentists, and since I am now sat sitting doing nothing whilst the youngest as an alternative to underwater cycling runs off his lunch in the soft play area.

I'm missing four teeth,  premolars and molars on one side so I asked the dentist about implants. Eventually I was seen by the practice expert, ÂĢ100, who wanted to remove another two and screw in replacements. This would take place over a few months, step by step, with a few visits as opposed to a trip to Budapest/Izmir all out all in one visit.

I eventually received a huge contract and a price, eight bags of sand. Having seen the x-Ray and looking at the disappearing bone, receding gums and such I had a good think about it. Meanwhile I kept receiving  'phone calls asking if I'd received the contract, had I made my mind up? Did I know I was running out of time? I was quite surprised as I've been with this dentist for 30+ years and the practice had never been one for the hard sell. I then discovered the original dentist had sold up at the turn of the year.

I've decided to keep the eight grand for the moment!

Moonie, it's very rare that a remake is anything like the original as you say. The BBC are also doing a Keeping Up Appearances, Up Pompeii and Porridge one off remakes as part of their celebration of 60 years of BBC sitcoms.

There are a couple of famous films which are generally better known and regarded than the originals. There's the 1954 Judy Garland/James Mason version of A Star is Born (the original was the 1937 Janet Gaynor/Fredric March version).

And Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. And before you start getting baffled, it's a remake of the 1956 film The Three Outlaws. That one had Neville Brand (more familiar as a villain) as Butch Cassidy and Alan Hale Jr (the son of the better known Alan Hale) as The Sundance Kid.

ÂĢ8,000 is a big chunk of money so I don't blame you for holding onto it.

Good morning everyone, grey cloud today.  Good heavens we get the occasional fast (gone in a blur) RAF jet here but never at night, I hope you can catch up on your sleep tonight Joe and Mrs Joe.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes, wishful thinking yesterday I think, still just as bad this morning, keep taking the painkillers and wait for it to pass I guess.

How exciting Summer, lots of planning ahead for your friend

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Good morning all and a big get well soon hug for Squiggle I'll be sending you healing thoughts today

My friend laughed because I'm the only person so far to ask about plans for the cake, rather than when or when the wedding will be :laughed:

moonie, I'm sure, will approve

what are you all doing today? Ive actually got a totally free day off! So I'm going to start with breakfast and a walk see you in a bit

~Sparkling Summer~

Squiggle, I hope your pain eases soon

Summer, I think you meant to put laugh rather than laughed to get this -
I hope you enjoy your day off and a good walk

I have to go out shortly to a meeting with a client. She has relatively straighforward tax but tends to be a bit disorganised. So I go to her rather than her to me as the chances are that she would forget to bring some of what I need

Fans of the Narnia books may be interested to hear that the film series which had been put on hold is to resume with The Silver Chair.

Unfortunately, though, Will Poulter's probably now too old to reprise the role of Eustace...

That's annoying! Have they got enough money in the budget to use cgi..?

The main distributors TriStar would have the money to put in. I'm not sure though how big a budget it will be as one of the production companies, The Mark Gordon Company, is more of a producer of television series (the best known here being Grey's Anatomy and Criminal Minds). The BBC article does say it's a film for the big screen though.
