It is love never dies, and it's timeless. It's lovely to be able to look at these things with a smile on our faces. I'm rather sentimental, I like little keepsakes

your dad must have been skilled in the handy way, especially if he could build a shed!

The shed was good when first built and is still watertight even now. He also built two greenhouses too

Moonie

Good morning everyone.

After yesterday's heavy rain and wind, it's now calm and overcast.

El, I hope your dental check up goes well.

I've got to have root treatment on Friday, on a tooth near the front which I'm desperately trying to save!

Summer and Moonie, I agree that it's nice to have a physical keepsake as a reminder of loved ones, as well as our memories.

Velvet, I'm glad things turned around and your weekend was okay.

Squiggle, I hope your weather is less muggy today.

Ros, I'm sorry I didn't make the CBB thread last night. I had unexpected visitors.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, quite a stiff breeze this morning. I hope all goes well with the check up EL, I am sure it will.  Good luck with the root canal Yogi you certainly don't want to lose a front tooth.  I so agree about keepsakes to remind us of lost loved ones, I have a set of tea cups and saucers in my display cabinet that were always in my Mum and Dad's - every time I see them I think of them.  I am glad your weekend went well Summer and you are back home safely.  I hope the rain stays well away Moonie.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Thanks Yogi and Squiggle The checkup went as well as is possible, nothing whatsoever found though some fillings may need to be replaced at some time in the future through natural wear.

Yogi, I hope the root canal work goes smoothly on Friday. You may want to get someone to drive you to and back from the dentist (and is a must if you are getting sedation rather than a local).

Summer, I'm glad you had a good weekend and a safe journey back

Yet another scam going around:

Gloucestershire police are issuing a warning about a new type of scam.

A man in Cheltenham was browsing the internet on his mobile phone whilst at home yesterday evening when a message came up saying that his phone had been shut down by police.

The message said he would need to pay ÂĢ100 to 'paysafe', with a link for him to click on, for his phone to be unlocked.

Thankfully, the victim suspected this was a scam so he didn't pay anything and called police.

Officers are warning the public of this scam and offering the following advice:

  • Ensure any device you use that accesses the internet has security software installed to help prevent any viruses or scams
  • If an unexpected message appears on your phone asking you to pay money online, call your mobile network provider or the police on 101
  • Do not pay for anything online unless you are sure what it is and who it is to
  • Just because police are mentioned, don't assume it is genuine – call us on 101 if you're unsure

The police spokesman said: "Please make your family, friends and neighbours aware of this scam and our advice."
