Good morning everyone

Generally cloudy here though there is some brightness.

I've a Science Museum radio controlled clock which I inherited from my mother so it's old but has been very accurate. For some reason this morning it has decided to advance the hours by 4 hours so at the time of posting this 8.2, it's showiing 12.2

Summer, I can't say if my client was missold the scheme or not as it would depend on if he was told about the capital gains by the advisor and didn't understand it, or if he wasn't told. I had told him before that I can't give investment advice other than on tax implications so he might not have thought of asking me.

I hope everyone has a good day

Summer, I think my clock may have been bewitched over night. I was woken during the night by the sound of a broom against the window, By the time I looked through the window there was nothing there though I might have heard the sounf of a cat meowing in the distance

I've no intention of watching CBB. Most of those entering are people I've never heard of though I recognise Helen Lederer, Christoper Biggins, and Ricky Norwood (Fatboy from Eastenders), and have heard of Sam Fox (if the Mirror leak is correct). Put in white text as it's a spoiler.

Squiggle, my clock is one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Radio...-Clock/dp/B002806U0E
It doesn't have such a vivid green screen - it's no longer made so don't bother trying to get one. I don't know where the signal comes from as I don't have the booklet which would have come with it. I have found instructions on how to use it but there's no technical information so the signal may be from Rugby or somewhere else.

Artist's impression of the replacement roundabout at Elmbridge Court near me and I have to go on it frequently. It's to be developed over the next year.

There's a road going through the roundabout for those going between the A40 Northern bypass and the A40 Golden Valley bypass to Cheltenham. It's traffic light controlled and I hope that it will be round the clock rather than just during part of the day otherwise it will be disastrous.

Good morning everyone, lucky you were on the ball EL.  I always send phishing emails off to the spoof section of the firm involved so they can keep an eye on what the crooks are up to.

I saw the pictures in the paper, and I am not at all biased but (and I am sure Yogi would agree ) cute! but not as cute as our wee ones

Enjoy your day everyone

Yogi agrees wholeheartedly.

Good morning everyone, it has been quite wet but it's brightening now.  Sounds like a lovely day Yogi.  Yes I am planning on watching Celebrity BB, but maybe I won't start until tomorrow - I've got it recorded but I want to watch a film this afternoon.  I hope your afternoon goes well with lovely customers Summer.

I am ready for the Olympics!  I have got Barchester Chronicles to watch, and if that doesn't quite fill the gaps I shall maybe watch Pride & Prejudice again.  I hope all those who are looking forward to it enjoy it though.

Enjoy your day everyone

Summer, my clock might have decided to fly to Pakistan or Uzbekistan for their time zone

Squiggle, a good choice for the Olympics
Looking at the Radio Times online listings, BBC1 mornings seem to be normal schedule with BBC2 showing Olympic highlights. BBC1 schedule for the afternoon and evenngs is Olympics with gaps for the lunchtime and evening news and Eastenders. BBC2 shows Olympics during those gaps, but a mix of what might have been on BBC1 or BBC2 for the rest of the time. BBC4 is on for longer than normal but seems to be almost entirely Olympics. The BBC red button channel(s) don't get listed on the Radio Times site but I think they will be Olympics as well. Different areas and televisions get varying numbers of red channels but I think there's 6 or 7 in total during Rio.
Olympics from Friday August 5 to Sunday August 21.

Paralympics from September 7th to 18th - those are on Channel 4.

Good morning everyone.

Summer, I hope you enjoyed your lie in.

Squiggle, I don't usually watch the Olympics but I really enjoyed the London Olympics and the thread on here when we were all rooting for the same team.

El, I'm glad your clock is working properly again.

The sun is shining and I'm going out for lunch with hubby. Have a good day everyone.

A 10 minute film from 1913 called Suspense. It was written, co-directed and starred Lois Weber who was the first significant female director in the States. It's a well made film for its time and is quite suspenseful. It's also quite technically advanced for its time - a film shot through a keyhole, the use of a mirror on a car to show what's going on, and it may be the first film to show a splt screen to show 3 events going on at the same time.
