My brain has been slow the last few day Rossss, hence only been here off and on
Nite nite Sweet and Rossss, sleep well, sweet dreams both
Good morning everyone
Fair weather here this morning, then the rain starts.
Yes, England knocked out of the football by Iceland. A collection of players who may be very good themselves but disunited as a team, knocked out by a much smaller country where the team was playing as a team. As Aesop said in his fable "The Four Oxen and the Lion" - "United we stand, divided we fall".
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone.
Weather is cloudy atm.
Squiggle, I hope you are feeling less tired today?
Out and about this morning, let's hope I can dodge any showers.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone. Yes thanks Yogi, for me there is nothing like time spent alone with the Lord, reading my bible and just spending time in His company, very healing and refreshing. I hope you manage to dodge any showers and get home safe and dry
That seems a very wise comment to me EL, me who knows nothing about football, but playing as a team is surely the winning combination. I well remember the 1966 World Cup Final. My hubby always rated Bobby Moore as one of the best, if not the best team captain for the way he could read the match and direct his players accordingly.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning all I've been locked out of the forum since last night, I had to close my web browser and start again to fix it. Good to be here now
my car is getting a spare wheel fitted and an exhaust repair today, here's hoping all goes smoothly.
Squiggle, I heard an inspiring speech this week about fear & faith going hand in hand, and to sum it up, it was recommended that with the world and our political situation in uproar, we should try not to panic and allow fear to get to us, and that we must have faith that God will stand by us. Perhaps the worldly struggles at this time or meant to occur so that more spiritual awakenings can happen, restore people's faith in a higher power and reunite humanity
I hope all goes well with your car today Summer. I know you are very sensible and have the money put by.
What a wise post, yes you are right. I see the Lord working in so many ways at the moment. Some people say that reading the bible is like reading the daily newspaper, so many prophecies are coming true day by day. And yes, the really comforting thing is the Lord is in control. The politicians and world leaders run to and fro but the Lord will have the last word
Good morning everyone
Dry but looking like that may change soon
Yogi, good luck with the shower dodging
Sweet, I hope your car repairs go well
Hi El and squiggle
I hope everyone's day goes well
There's a website called what3words which has mapped the world into trillions of 3 x 3 metres squares. Each square is identified by a unique series of three words.
Typte in your address in the box and the three words appear in the red bar at the foot of the screen.
It might amuse you and your friends but as your address can easily be found, it's not a good idea to post your three word series here.
Ooh that sounds like fun, thank you El
Afternoon all. I managed to get my errands done, without getting soaked.
Summer, I hope the car repairs are done quickly and aren't costly.
Further to Summer and Squiggle's posts about faith and fear, I remember watching one of my many programmes on WW2 and it mentioned that during and after WW2, church congregations rose dramatically. It seems that in very difficult times, a lot of people (who don't consider themselves religious or regular church goers) find comfort in their faith.
Moonie, has it stayed dry and is your washing out on the line?
El, I'm about to try the word game and see what three words it comes up with.
Squiggle, by a strange coincidence, ITV have today announced a 3 part drama called Tina and Bobby about Bobby Moore's life with Tina from childhood sweethearts through their lives together. It's based on her memoir about him.

I don't think I would watch that EL. Bobby Moore was the loveliest man, he lived near my Mum and I sometimes saw him running around the local streets. Tina, on the other hand, did not have a good reputation and I don't want to hear her 'side' of things when Bobby isn't here to give us his.

Well done on getting your washing dried. Mine has had to go into the tumble dryer.
The sun is peeping through atm but it won't last. The grey clouds are on their way.
First Men in the Moon(1964) is on Film 4
Just started in Film 4+1, an hour into it on Film 4
Squiggle, it's not something I would watch either. I thought it strange that within a few hours of your post, ITV would announce it.

Fankoo Yogi
I guess getting it dry is the most important thing, whether using a dryer or drying it on the line outside
When it pops out again, tape it to the sky so it can't pop back again
Thank goodness I keep wellies and an umbrella at work- we certainly needed it this lunchtime! on the plus side, the rain sounded wonderful and I splashed in puddles
yogi i'm glad you've got everything done and I hope your afternoon is slow paced
Moonie, I have seen First Men in the Moon years ago. I confess that I didn't particularly like Lionel Jeffries's character in that film. That's just my personal reaction and I don't want to put anyone off watching the film.
How a group of students from the University of Gloucestershire came to the assistance of some of those injured in the Orlando massacre.

It's the account of one of them given on an anonymous basis. The Mail has a similar story but has been publishing some of the students's names and their photographs. My local news site has respected their privacy.

Well done to the students who helped and well done to the paper for respecting their wish to remain anonymous.
