Got my gas and electricity bills emailed to me this morning. With the gas one they said "You've used less gas than expected so your payments have been changed from ÂĢ33.00 to ÂĢ48.02 a month, so you don't underpay"

What happened was that until 3 months ago I had been paying ÂĢ55.00 a month, built up a credit balance, so they reduced the ÂĢ55.00 to ÂĢ33.00 to reduce the credit balance. They've now repaid me the remainig credit balance and increased the payment to ÂĢ48.02 which is lower than the ÂĢ55.00.

Good morning everyone, another lovely morning here.  As Summer says that's so silly EL, but there again energy companies are a law unto themselves.  They owe me over ÂĢ150 at the moment as we go into the warmer months and I suppose if enough customers have a similar credit balance then they rake in quite a bit of interest

Have a great PB day Yogi, I hope the weather is good so that you can get out and about and enjoy it.

Enjoy your day everyone

Hi El

Good job you are an accountant. You need to be to work out that gas bill conundrum

Yogi

Have a super day with PB

Looking forward hearing what she comes out with today

She would love it here. We have a fair in the park at the bottom of the road, were the swans are. Over the other side of the park from where they are though

Rain promised for later today but very sunny for now. Have a lovely day everyone

Moonie

Squiggle, you might be able to get your energy company to repay you some or all of that ÂĢ150 if you want to

Moonie, as you say, it's helpful to be an accountant to understand what was going on  I think a lot of people getting such an email would be puzzled and ring the energy company to question it. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better now

The method of making sodium bicarbonate (which is baking soda) from sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide and water has been around for a long time but the idea of using this to capture carbon molecules is what the article is about,

I assume that the method would be used mainly to reduce carbon dioxide in the sea rather than in the atmosphere because of the water but it would help to reduce ocean acidification.

I agree Sweet and El

Aww new babies Moonie!  Do you think the parents are last year's babies or the parents last year?  EL I think my energy company will repay any amount surplus at the end of next quarter, still means they get interest on my money though.  I am catching up on 'The Durrells' slowly and was charmed to see Leslie Caron as the Countess in the episode I watched yesterday.  Does anyone remember her?  She still looks so beautiful.

Hi squiggle

The parents are last years parents
I believe swans don't breed until they are 4 years old

They never left the park over Winter

Aw lots of cygnets! that's lovely. Thanks for the pic moonie. Has Swan watch officially begun now?

squiggle, I'm glad you're enjoying the Durrells the countess isn't someone I'm familiar with (that I know of) but I think she's beautiful now, so I should imagine she was really something in your younger days

Hi Sweet

Yep, swan watch 2016 is under way

Great cygnets clip Moonie

Squiggle, I too am catching up on The Durrells but haven't seen the episode with Leslie Caron. I do remember her from An American in Paris and Daddy Long Legs. She has high cheekbones which could well account for her retaining her looks.

Thanks El

Moonie

Evening all.

We had a great day with PB. The weather was sunny so we went to a park which has a big children's play area with lots of slides, swings, climbing frames etc.

Moonie, we saw some swans and cygnets at the park we went to today - but the pair of swans we saw, only had seven cygnets.

Squiggle, I remember Leslie Caron. She was a very good dancer.

El, I liked the actress, Maureen O'Hara.

Summer, we saw a border terrier today and PB said, "That dog looks like Bramble".

hi yogi it sounds like you've had a lovely day, what great fun

Hi Summer. She certainly does know who Bramble is.

I was a lovely day. Grandad is in bed - he was her horse at one point. She sat on his shoulders, made him run and she shouted "yee-ha!", while waving her sunhat.
