Aw that sounds lovely, are you still enjoying the freshly finished living room?

I'm working tomorrow, but have no set evening plans. I thought I'd see how busy work is and how tired I feel after

I am, thank you. The other lamp table arrived today, so it looks more "finished" if you know what I mean.

That sounds like a plan.

No visitors due tomorrow, so I might go out and about - or I may just veg out.

On yesterday's The One Show:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/e...he-one-show-25032016
there was an item on Salisbury Cathedral (which starts as 21 minutes). The One Show's regular hairdresser visits the cathedral and as usual gives haircuts to, in this case, two men then a girl.

The second man (at 23 minutes) is the canon precentor (who is responsible for the music and devising and delivering the services). He's Tom Clammer who I know well as he used to be the curate at our church.

I see on my local website that a 17 year old cyclist was hit by a car at the crossing from Plock Court to Longford in Gloucester at 9 am yesterday morning. She has suffered serious head and knee injuries but her condition is described as non-life threatening.

The A40 is a very busy dual carriageway but the crossing does have traffic lights. It's not yet known if the cyclist or the driver, a 80 year old man, is at fault.

This took place where the A40 crosses with the A38. Just round the corner where the accident occurred in the A38 is where recently I was waiting at the equivalent crossing on the A38 when an elderly 80 year man suddenly drove straight across the road over the crossing immediately in front of me. He had pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

The 80 year old man yesterday is from Hereford so I don't think it's the same man.

Was it the final tonight?

Ive had a busy day, but it's been good fun and I've just had the most tasty pasta dish for tea!

No, I think it was the quarter-finals

Did you make the pasta dish or was it one you bought? I like pasta.

Mr Yogi made me one recently with chicken and chorizo and tomato sauce, it was yummy.

that sounds delicious! Is it his own recipe?

mine was chicken, tomato & chilli with a little mozzarella. I added some spinach to it myself. I rarely choose chicken dishes but it looked delicious, I bought it from m&s

Yes, he still likes to create stuff in the kitchen, now and then.

That sounds really lovely. Adding the spinach was a good idea.

What a gem! I love a man that can create & cook

have you been watching anything good today? I've decided to really challenge myself next year for lent and give up television!

I just wish he'd cook more often.

I watched a DVD today - Housewife 49. On TV, I've been watching Scandinavian dramas recently.

Home Fires starts on Sunday 3rd April. I'm really looking forward to it.

Sacandinavian! Are they in English or subtitled?

thanks, I didn't know that, I'm looking forward to home fires returning

Yes, I've watched it loads of times but I still love it. It's based on the true story of a lady who wrote about her every day life in WW2. It was part of a Mass Observation thing the government did. I've read the books associated with it too - her name was Nella Last.

The Scandi dramas as subtitled. I have to watch them on my own so I can concentrate.

That sounds interesting, was Nella English?  I bet she had no idea that her writing would be turned in to a movie

Yes, she was from Barrow-in-Furness. She was quite a timid, nervous woman and in a way, the war brought her out of herself and made her stronger.

I love stuff about the homefront in WW2, which is probably why I like Home Fires so much.

I do too, it makes me think of my Gran. She was a teenager when the war broke and then she joined the RAF.

I wonder what it was like being in the Lake District compared to the bigger cities back then. What did she do after the war?

I bet your gran had great stories to tell.

Nella was working almost fulltime for the WVS (became the WRVS) during the war, but their services weren't needed as much after the war, so she went back to mostly being a housewife - but she had more spirit and strength of character than before.

She did, I loved hearing them.

It can't have been easy going back to being a housewife after that, but I bet she was one heck of a woman for the rest of her days

I think the war changed a lot of women.

I'm wilting, so I think it's Outnumbered time. Goodnight and sweet dreams, Summer.

Night owl hug for Ros. (I said I wasn't going to watch civilian BB again, but my resolve is weakening already)

Good morning everyone, He is risen indeed EL.

Very confusing this morning, I normally remember that the clocks have changed - my bedside clock does it automatically - but this morning I didn't and wondered why it felt so early.  It wasn't until I got downstairs and saw some clocks that hadn't automatically changed that I realised.

Happy Easter to everyone, enjoy your day
