I'm going to have to say goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie as I can feel myself wilting.

Hugs for the night owls.

I hope tomorrow goes well. Will be very interested to hear how it all pans out

Nite nite, sleep well. Sweet dreams Yogi

Good morning everyone

Blue sky and warmer than recently here. It's not expected to last beyond this morning when it clouds over.

Yogi, I hope your busy day of furniture being delivered and visits by PB and BB goes well

I was due to have a 6 monthly blood pressure test this morning but the surgery range to postpone it by a couple of weeks due to the nurse being ill. There's a lot of bugs going around in my area at present, and that includes swine flu.

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning everyone.  We had the severest frost of the winter this morning but it has almost completely disappeared now as it is such a glorious morning.  The birds have been singing fit to burst in the uppermost branches of my tallest tree - having a conversation with nearby birds - I wish I knew what they were talking about

Very wise of them to postpone your blood pressure test EL, my family have been going down like ninepins with the Norovirus and as you said there are some nasty bugs around at the moment.

Yogi I am sure it's going to be an exciting and happy day, I hope you are thrilled with your new furniture when it arrives and that it looks just as you visualised it would.

Thank you for mentioning about Great Canal Journeys, I had overlooked it so I have set to record it on 4seven today.  I have watched it all the way from the beginning of their journeys and would have hated to miss it. Somehow I don't like watching on catch up on the laptop, I like to see it on the TV.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Squiggle, oddly enough although it's been just as sunny here there has been no frost and it's been the warmest start to the day for quite some time. If you can find him Doctor Doolittle could tell you what the birds were saying

I hope you don't go down with the Norovirus and that your family recover from it quickly

My neighbour won't be pleased when they get home, There's another yellow notice on their wheelie bin, but this time it's the garden waste one. We get sent stickers each year to put on the bin to show that we've paid. This year's sticker is yellow and they've still got the old purple one. I can't have much sympathy with them this time as I had told them about the yellow sticker a few weeks ago.

El Loro

Summer, when I talked with my neighbour about the yellow garden sticker a few weeks ago she thought that they had paid the fee. So it may be that they've got the sticker and forgot to put it on. I think this has been the first time this year they put out the garden waste wheelie. The reason I mentioned it was that I never got the sticker after I rang to pay for it. Some weeks had past and I noticed that the payment hadn't gone through. So I rang the council and it turned out that there had been a computer glitch which meant that a lot of people's payments hadn't gone through. They were still shown as outstanding. The council had no way of differentiating between those who had rung them but the payments hadn't gone through and those who hadn't contacted them. That's why I mentioned it to my neighbour as I could see that they still had the old sticker and the same thing might have happened to them.

I think the council could get criticised for this as it's likely that many people think that they've paid but haven't and the first they find out is when their bins don't get emptied.

El Loro

Morning everyone

It was lovely and sunny here earlier. Now it's dull and really quite cold too

Bills paid, shopping done. That's me sorted for the day

El, I hope you don't manage to catch any of those bugs that are around in your area.

*dons mask*

squiggle, I hope you manage to avoid that virus

*dons full bio suit*

Sweet, have a  back and fankoo for yours

Yogi, good luck with today. I'm sure PB and BB will be of great assistance to you

Leaving a  for Skylark incase she pops in

Have a great day Buddies

There's a new "The Railway Children Film" being shown in some cinemas on Monday 28th March. It's a filmed performance of the stage play version which toured the country. The performance was last summer at the National Railway Museum in Yorkshire.

Some video clips can be seen:
https://www.facebook.com/TheRa...16/videos?fref=photo

If anyone is interested it looks as if it's advisable to get the tickets in advance via:
http://www.railwaychildrenfilm.com/
It looks as if for most cinemas it's just the one showing at 3pm which is why it's advisable to check and book in advance.

It's defiintely a family film and has a U certificate.

El, the bin situation sounds like chaos. I expect that the councils phone lines will be very busy after the first so called collection

HI Sweet and Bramble

I hope you are having a good day. Not working too hard

In our area we don't have to pay for the bins. We have four...

One for household waste, one recyclables, one for garden waste and one for kitchen waste, that is anything that is compatible. The garden waste is only collected every two weeks but the other three are collected weekly

Moonie

My neighbour wasn't too pleased with the council when she found out. She's sure she's got the yellow sticker somewhere, just has to try and find it.

Moonie, mine's much the same as your council. One wheelie for non-recycleable household waste, one wheelie for garden waste, a food caddy bin, and a box for recycleable items. There are restrictions as to what can go in those such as building materials including paint tins and electical items, those you have to take to the central recycling place locally. The 2 wheelies are collected fortnightly, the others weekly.

We had a card from the council a couple of weeks ago El, reminding us what we can and can't put in the recycle bin. Much the same as you

Evening all.

Moonie, I'm still sane and the deliveries arrived on time.

PB and BB are both well.

I still have some pictures to hang and a few other bits to do, but at least we have somewhere to sit now.

Summer, PB was very helpful and arranged the new cushions. She also "helped" her dad attach the legs to the table.

Middle son and DiL came for tea, so it's been a lovely but busy day.

El, we don't have to pay to have any of our bins emptied.

Squiggle, I love your description of the birds in your garden.

Hi Moonie.

It's bliss having somewhere to park ourselves. Hubby said we were getting bedsores, being stuck in the bedrooms for hours on end.
