Good morning everyone, cloudy with blue bits at the moment but it looks as if it will brighten this afternoon.  At least it's dry.

Summer I hope you have shaken off that nasty bug and are feeling better now. I was watching the local news yesterday and there was an article about black swans in Dawlish and I saw something I had never noticed before.  Their wings made really pretty folds on their back, like a folded fan.  I suppose it must be the same on white swans but doesn't show as clearly.

Squiggle, I found a video on Youtube which was posted yesterday about black swans in Dawlish. It's 4 videos with black gaps in between and lasts for almost 7 minutes. It's possible that one of those may be connected with what you saw on the news yesterday.

squiggle, swans and cygnets are beautiful up close. Their wings are fan like on occasions. Somewhere in my  "swans and cygnets" video collection I have several videos of very young cygnets riding between those fan like wings. You can just see the little ones

The carpet fitter has arrived, so Keira and I have taken refuge upstairs.

I love swans, we have a pair which stay in the village pond and breed every year. 

They have been known to stop the traffic as they take their cygnets for a walk.

Those videos are great EL and show the swan's plumage very well.  The one that was on the news was about the rescue of the cygnets when they were swept over the weir.  They have put netting in place now to stop it happening again.

I hope the carpet fitter will be finished soon Yogi and you can get all the furniture back in place.

Squiggle, I thought it likely that it was the rescue clip. There's a clip of that on the BBC facebook site but it looks as if it was taken on a phone as it's narrow screen and a lot shorter than that in my clip so I didn't post that one.

I'm glad the netting has been put in place.

El, what a stunning video. The rescue of the cygnets was brilliant and their welcome back by the swans was just lovely
