That was a quick read Yogi

My local council is clamping down on their policy on household waste wheelie bins. A couple of weeks ago I saw a bin which hadn't been emptied as the lid was about 3 inches open rather than flat. The bins have just been emptied and my neighbours' hasn't and a notice left saying due to lid not being flat - it was open by at most 1 inch. I had seen a notice at the end of last year saying that the council were tightening up on this and it's clear they mean it.

Good morning everyone
It's sunny here already

Sweet, I hope you and Bramble have a lovely day, oh and your other little for-legged visitor too if he/she is still there

El, I was watching other stuff so will hit the footie later today. I won't get all the games in but I am sure I will have fun

Our council, like Velvet's, will empty our wheelies closed or not. I just wish they would learn to put them where they got them from, on the edge of each property and not all over the place

squiggle, I likes me footie

Yogi, have a lovely day out *coffs* cakes *coffs*

Velvet, well dog walked

for Skylark is she pops in

Have a lovely day each

Pathetic El. We have the jumbo bins and thus not a problem. I'm sure our local council would take a dead body though with the hand sticking out.

Morning all. It's absolutely glorious here. Dog walked

I hope you won't try that out

I don't have a violent streak in me El

I didn't think you had

I bought an olivewood cross from Israel a coupla months ago. It's about five inches tall. I pray with it every night. In thanks..don't ask for much.

Our church has always used the usual palm crosses made from palms on Palm Sunday. Yesterday I saw a box at church containing palm crosses from what looks like 2 ice lolly sticks I don't know if those are intended for any schools having a service in church over the next couple of weeks or if they are for the main church service next Sunday.

Religion split my parents up. One was Catholic the other Protestant.

Well...family split them up. You can still get married was a classic.

As I'm Anglican and my ex girlfriend is Catholic, I'm aware that the Catholic church would require that any children were brought up as Catholics. I knew her parents well and did sometimes go to their church so it wouldn't have caused problems for me, her or her parents. Of course Anglicans can't take communion in a Catholic church but Catholics can in an Anglican church which is sad. That may change eventually,

Good afternoon the sun is shining here, bramble and I are both sitting in it's warm Ray's our furry friend went home last night, but I'm sure will be back at some point in the future.

My throat is very sore but I've taken some paracetamol and I'm alright at work

Squiggle, that's such a perfect description of P&P, it really is one of the best tv dramas ever made

i recorded Indian summers last night, I enjoyed the first series last year. I'm in the mood for light viewing lately though so it'll keep for another time.

Velvet, you are funny don't ever change

el & moonie, I hope you are both having a good day

yogi I hope you are too

~Sparkling Summer~

I do hope your sore throat clears up quickly, warm salt water is soothing and healing remember   You could be right EL, I am not sure I would recognise an Alder tree though.

Pride & Prejudice all finished, and I am already looking forward to watching it again in a little while.

Velvet remember Jesus came to save the lost sheep, I don't think He would recognise these silly labels.  I always said I wanted to join the church that Jesus started and now I just call myself a follower of Jesus.  God hears all our prayers

Afternoon everyone.

I've been reading back.

El, I didn't know Catholics could take communion in an Anglican church. I have learned so much from you.

Summer, I had forgotten about Indian Summers last night. Thank you reminding me - I'll watch it later on catch up.

I hope your sore throat eases off quickly.

<- Danish Pastries and Sea Salted Caramel desserts for Moonie and everyone else.

Velvet, your olivewood cross from Israel sounds beautiful.

Squiggle, I echo what Velvet said, wise words indeed.

I'm having a quick cuppa before I catch up on a pile of ironing.

Yogi, yes, in Anglican churches you can take communion if you take communion in your own church regardless of denomination. I'm referring to Church of England churches when I say Anglican as it's possible that Anglican churches outside England may have a different policy.

Well, I think it's great to be so welcoming and inclusive.

There are reasons why Anglicans can't take communion in Roman Catholic churches but they are complex to understand as they involve matters such as transubstantiation compared to consubstantiation and the Roman Catholic requirement to be in a state of grace or free from the stain of serioius sin after having made confession. I won't attempt to try to explain these as I'm not a Roman Catholic.

I think it's very similar in most non-conformist churches - Methodist, Baptist, Plymouth Brethren, Salvation Army etc.  They usually announce that anyone who knows the Lord as their personal Saviour is welcome to share in communion.  It's much less formal in these sort of churches, no trooping up to the altar but served to people seated.  People usually take the bread - usually real bread torn by the minister as Jesus tore the bread at The Last Supper - and we eat it straight away.  Then the wine - usually blackcurrant juice - is served in individual cups and we wait and drink it all together.  And the famous bible passages are quoted.  It makes for a very friendly and inclusive ceremony.

i don't think there's any Alder trees on the beach El, but thank you for thinking of me I'm pretty sure it's a virus type bug. I'll have a warm bath & early night tonight X

I have washed all my net curtains today

That sounds like a good ides

Moonie

Lol what are you boys like

hi yogi it's like a raging volcano! And my chest is chesty, so I've had an aromatherapy bath and some hot food, and am tucked up in bed for an early night.

How was your day?

Moonie, usually Bramble would sulk but she seems perfectly content to have me all to herself again. I think it's the hormones well done on washing your nets

Aww, sounds like you have a nasty bug. Take care of yourself.

We were out and about this morning, then I was catching up on ironing and housework in the afternoon.
