El, I'm glad you got on okay at the dentist, and that nobody was badly hurt in the accident you witnessed.
The forum is very quiet again tonight, so I shall toddle off and watch the programme about OJ at 9pm.
Have a good evening everyone, catch up tomorrow.
Hugs for the night owls.
Darn it! I meant to record that show about the OJ trial! What channel was it on yogi?
Sweet dreams, I hope you sleep peacefully
El, that's a close call. I'm pleased no one was hurt and hope the driver isn't too shaken up tonight bless him. I'm glad your gum is healing nicely, did it feel strange when they took the stitches out?
leaving night owl hugs for moonie, velvet & Ros

If I had realised you two were here, I could have joined you.
I've been up since 4am, due to malfunctioning smoke alarms!
Another frosty morning. I don't mind the frost, it's so much better than wind and rain.
Summer, the OJ programme was on BBC2. I think you'll get it on Iplayer.
No idea what my plans are for today - I might have a nap.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone
Sunny and frosty here.
Yogi, I hope those smoke alarms get sorted out quickly
Summer, I didn't feel anything when the dentist took out the stitches
The first episode of OJ is on iplayer:

It may be the batteries I hope. If it isn't jump out the top windae noo.
I think it is the batteries. They are mains powered with battery backup, and I remember the house alarm having a similar problem when the back up battery needed replacing. I'll go buy two new ones this morning.
Weather update: we've got sleet.

Make sure you hold Mr Yogi's ladders. And take out a policy now if you've not got one
Good thinking!
Off to make a cuppa, then to buy some batteries. See you all later.

oh heck yogi I hope the new batteries sort the alarms out, I remember that happening at my old house and it took us 3 hours to figure out what it was lol
Good morning everyone, I think I have wandered into a rehearsal for The Goons or possibly Monty Python! Read back, it's hilarious
Weather is bright and cold, Yogi sorry you got woken by smoke alarms I swear those things are programmed to cause nuisance in the middle of the night!
Enjoy your day everyone
I see your Ying Tong Song and I raise with I'm Walking Backwards for Christmas
Morning peeps
Just popping in to let you I am still alive and kicking and will be back soon, I hope
Have a great day everyone
Just had an email from a business in Sri Lanka which provides an outsourcing service to handle my clients' bookkeeping and payroll functions. It must think that I have a large practice. I do know that some accountancy practices do that but it's not something that I would ever do. The startling thing about their email was their charge rate - ÂĢ3 per hour. The national minimum age in the UK is ÂĢ6-70 (for those 21 & over) at present, and the living wage from April is ÂĢ7-20 (that's for those over 25). Apart from the fact I don't need to outsource, there's the issues over reliability and confidentiality, and the moral issue that any UK accountant using that service is depriving someone in the UK of work.
2 Tolkien poems published in a 1936 school magazine have been found in the school's archives.
News article and the text of the two poems:

I wouldn't want take up their services either el

You get some amount of spam and hoaxers El.
It might have been a hoax but it's quite likely that it was genuine as there are outsourcing services in Sri Lanka who do work for accountants around the world.
Evening all.
Spam or hoaxer, you must get fed up with them, El.
Nice to see you, Moonie. I hope you are back with us soon.

Beep from the smoke detector sorted? Will you sleep tonight and dream of The Alexander Bros. once more?
Evening Velvet.
It wasn't just beeping, it was actually going off!
Mr Yogi has replaced the batteries, so hopefully we won't get disturbed tonight.
lol My nana loved the Alexander Brothers.

Dunno.
I'm no the man to talk to about booby prizes at the mo unless I look in the mirror and use my imagination
I'm a 48 DD in a good light. There's for sale signs everywhere
You are no booby prize!
I'm going to get a bath and get my PJs on, will be back in a wee while.
My sleepless night is catching up with me, so I'm going to get off now.
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Velvet.
Hugs for the night owls.
Good morning everyone
Cloudy and damp here, a generally wet day forecast, A weather warning out for snow in my area tonight but that's much more likely on the hills rather than low levels.
Yogi, I hope you got an undisturbed night last night
Cheltenham finally played the match against Kidderminster last night, it had been postponed twice. Cheltenham won 2-0 so are now 4 points clear of Forest Green at the top. The next match will be harder as they are away to Tranmere which are 4th.
Cheltenham just need one more point to ensure that it becomes mathematically impossible to be relegated and would be the first team in England in the main leagues this season to do that.
Good morning everyone, drizzly here but brighter tomorrow
Lovely to hear from Moonie again, hurry back now
Enjoy your day everyone
That's a lot of sugar in those hot drinks One of them had the equivalent of 99 grams or 25 teaspoons.

Good afternoon sorry I didn't get back online to wish you all goodnight, I hope you slept well
i'm only just rising from a huge lay in. I may have overdone the lavender last night, or I may have just needed a jolly good sleep but whatever the reason, I've thoroughly enjoyed it
it's grey & drizzly here so I think that's why I didn't wake earlier. Bramble is still snoring now lol
El, i just heard that story on the radio, 25 spoons of sugar is outrageous! They should have cut down on that much sooner, but better late than never. I hope they don't substitute with toxic sweeteners instead though
yogi I hope you had a better nights sleep last night, I'm glad your alarm is fixed did you ever see the episode of friends where they're up all night? Phoebe was kept awake by a faulty smoke alarm, it's a brilliant episode
Summer, I'm glad you had a throughly good sleep, you must have been tired.
I think I would be sick if I had ever tried to drink something with that much sugar.
I watched some episodes of Friends but not all of them and I can't remember that one.

I've just seen that on the news - quite shocking.
Afternoon all.
It was snowing when I woke this morning, followed by rain, and now the sun is shining.
Summer, you must have needed that long sleep. I hope you feel refreshed now.
I slept very well thank you, El and Summer. No more problems with the smoke alarm, so it looks like the problem was battery related.
Have a good day everyone.
El Loro posted:Yogi, I'm glad you had a full night's sleep
Thanks El.
Evening, Velvet
Apart from drizzle all day long, the weather's been so so today.
