Thanks Velvet I did go to see Marathon Man in the cinema when it was released so either just before the end of 1976 or the start of 1977. Because of that notorious scene I didn't go to the dentist for several years. Then one of my molars started breaking up and I realised that I had to go to the dentist. Not surprisingly that tooth had to be removed.

My advice to anyone who has never seen Marathon Man is not to watch it unless  you have already lost all your teeth or you are used to watching torture scenes.

I know I'm no good to anybody El.

The baggage is too heavy.

No one is no good to anybody. You are not Sisyphus condemned to push a rock up a mountain only for the rock to roll back down. The rock is in your past, try to live for the future. Of course it's not easy, but it's possible in small steps.

El's reply is much more eloquent than anything I could say, but I agree with what he said, Velvet.

Evening all.

El, I'm glad your extraction has been relatively painless, and well done to your practice for doing a follow up call.

Squiggle, my weather was frosty in the morning but brightened up.

Summer, I hope you enjoyed your catch up with your friend.

PB and I had a great day. I'm not going to list everything she persuaded me that she "needed" but Granny's purse is a lot lighter.

We made pancakes together. She had Nutella on hers and I had Maple syrup.

Lots of drawing and colouring in, and playing at vets/doctors.

Her attempt at doing Swan Lake in my livingroom was brilliant.

Evening I'm just popping in to say goodnight because I'm pooped tonight I had a wonderful catch up with my friend, it was so good to see her and the weather could not have been better so we were lucky.

Rofl at PB that's what I like to hear! A+ for pancake efforts and I bet her swan lake was charming

velvet I hope you've had a good day too

leaving goodnight hugs for all, special shout out to Ros because we keep passing like ships

She's keeping you young Yogi. I hope you did a pirouette

(I'm trying to paint a picture here)

Picture the dance of the sugar plum elephants and you'll be on the right lines.

Granny's ballet days are far behind her.

Aww...You should be more kind on yourself Yogi. The organ between your ears works just beautifully and I've seen your portrait in the Kelvingrove

Aww, you are a sweetheart.

Good morning everyone

Some blue sky here, forecast is to be mainly cloudy and possibly a bit of rain. Fractionally warmer then yesterday,

Gravitational waves and the warping of space-time have been observed. Scientists claim this is a major discovery

Just don't ask me to explain it all

In that case, I don't have a hope of understanding any of it.

Good morning everyone.

Another frosty morning, which is so much better than wind and rain.

Off to get my haircut later this afternoon. It's badly needing done. Think of a sheep before it gets shorn, and that's the look I'm sporting atm.

I missed the last hairdressers visit as Mr Yogi had unplugged the landline when he was decorating, and forgot to plug it back in. My mum was trying to phone for three days to say the hairdresser was coming, but couldn't get through. She never thought to try my mobile.

Have a good day everyone.

Got a letter from M&S about my M&S credit card and the points I get when using it. No change to the points when shopping in M&S. A reduction in when used elsewhere - one used to get 1 point for every ÂĢ2 spent, from next month 1 point for every ÂĢ5 spent - that's a 60% reduction.
It's due to the EU putting a cap on what are called interchange fees which is what is paid between the selling companies and the credit card company. The government expects businesses to adjust their prices so that customers don't los out.

Good twirl  Summer

Nothing exciting planned for the weekend and taking it easy.

Besides being the patron saint of love and happy marriages, St Valentine is also the patron saint of some rather different things - bee-keeping, plague victims and those who suffer from epilepsy. (that's courtesy of a Google search, not something that I knew)

Your hair is looking lovely Yogi, I find it very irritating when it reaches that shaggy stage.

My hubby was always very romantic about Valentines Day - we both were.  When I was working in an office in my late 40's he sent a bouquet of red roses direct to the office, it was such a surprise.  And even after he had had a major stroke and walking was difficult and very slow he insisted on being driven to the nearest shop where he could get a card when it was pouring with rain and in a howling gale, he would not be deterred.  Such sweet memories for me now.

What a lovely man your husband was. You are lucky to have such special memories of him.

Sweet dreams yogi sorry to have missed you. I've been having a relaxing evening; yoga, food, bath, fresh bed sheets.. I hope you've had a lovely day

aw, beautiful goldie dog

squiggle, your hubby sounds like one in a million, I'm sure he'll be with you in spirit this Valentine's Day. I hope I'm lucky enough to one day find such a partner.

Interesting facts El, I like honey so I'll be thankful for the bee-keepers this Sunday.

Leaving goodnight hugs for Ros, moonie & velvet and wishing you all the sweetest of dreams

Good morning everyone

A very overcast day here. Light rain possible and on the hills it's cold enough that there could be a dusting of snow.

First time the leaders of the Roman Catholic church and the Russian/Eastern Orthodox church have officially met since 1054, so quite a historic event.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, grey and drizzly here, I hope it's much better weather where you all are.

Interesting pic this morning EL, the Pope continues his agenda eh Which reminds me, random thought of the day, I am re-watching Lark Rise and in there there is a parson.  Why don't we hear of parsons any more do you think?

That sounds such a lovely pampering evening Summer I bet you look beautiful and glowing now.

Enjoy your day everyone

I couldn't make up my mind about this picture, do you think these colours for the Northern Lights could possibly be real?  The picture was taken in the Murmansk region of Russia
