I'm glad to be back home again without getting too wet.  Nothing terribly exciting, M&S spaghetti carbonara I stocked up on.  I have one a week and freeze them so I don't have to go back too often.  I did get some of their lemon muffins which are gorgeous and I tried their Gastro Pub luxury fish pie which looks good.  I always stock up on their gold teabags which I know EL likes too, they make a lovely cup of tea.  Some bananas and a pint of whole milk just in case my 2 pinta for the week runs out too soon.  I was just going to top up the petrol tank and go through the car wash, they have a promotion and I am due a free wash after paying for 5 before but the car wash was closed so I didn't bother and just came home.

I hope that tarp stays in place EL, we're a bit like Moonie and it's really blowing a hooley - lovely Irish expression, not sure if that's how you spell it.  Moonie I hope you are able to stay in the warm and dry now, like me.  Summer I hope your mum's instinct is wrong but mum's instincts are often spot on.  Never mind your sister has you both watching her back so I am sure it will all be fine.

Call me a coward but I can't watch the news, that beautiful baby boy.  Every time I see anything about it I think don't phone the flipping phone line get to A&E pronto and kick up a fuss if need be

Hi Squiggle

Glad you made it back back without getting wet

I just found this online Squiggle...

According to A Way with Words, to blow a hoolie means ‘(of weather) to storm; to forcefully gust, blow, and rain.’ It is perhaps connected to hooley, which is defined by Cassell’s Dictionary of Slang as “a rip-roaring party” and comes from Ireland.

Also on the same site....

The OED suggests that hoolie /hu(: )li/ comes from the Orkney Scots word hoolan (strong gale), from an unattested Norn form of the Old Icelandic Ã―lun (howling, wailing).

Its amazing what Google throws up

Afternoon all.

Such a tragic story about that little boy.

Moonie, it does become rather boring and predictable when they same people win all the time.

Summer, I hope your sister has been in touch by now.

Well done El on getting those returns in.

I correctly guessed the author of the story.

I like your food choices, Squiggle. Spaghetti carbonara and lemon muffins are yummy.

Hospital appointment this morning, then clearing out some kitchen cupboards.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning Yogi

I hope your hospital appointment goes well

Cleaned one of our kitchen cupboards out several years ago. Found stuff in there more than ten years old

Take care out there in the bad weather

Very wet and windy here this morning

Hi Sweet

All is well here bar the weather

I hope you and Bramble have a good day and you hear from your sister

It's looking like I will have to look out my wet weather gear

Moonie

Good morning everyone, it's been atrocious but I think the rain is going to come to an end soon, still very windy though.  Take care Moonie when you're out and about, I hope you get that lull and can get out and back in the dry.

Good luck with the hospital appointment and the cupboard cleaning.  Moonie I get told off by my daughter if she finds any out of date items, but 10 years! I think you hold the record.

EL do you think you get that team of mechanics when you need new tyres with the Formula 1 cars?

Enjoy your day everyone

I've just had a phone call from the mother of the client whose accounts are in a state of collapse. I wouldn't want to be the son tonight when he gets home as he will get a roasting. I couldn't say much to his mother though she has access to his accounts so know what state they are in. I told her that I was standing down as his client and I'm sending him a letter of disengagement and advising him to get things sorted out urgently.

Hi Squiggle

Managed to shop and bank in the dry fankoo

My mum would buy stuff occasionally, put it in the cupboard and it got shuffled to the rear of the cupboard

When accountants take on new clients they are supposed to send them engagament letters. It's considered a good idea to do disengagement letters if they cease acting for a client particularly in a case like this client. Soliciors do much the same.
