Good morning everyone

Fairly mild and patchy blue sky here. Dry at present, heavy rain forecast for the evening.

A correlation between Summer and prawn jalfrezi has been identified by scientists. They are carrying out further research to prove this is linked with pancakes and Christmas

Good morning everyone.

Weather is dry, if a little cloudy.

Waiting on a call from middle son, to find out whether he and DiL will be coming for tea tonight.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, still cloudy but not quite as windy.  Thanks for all your good wishes I am feeling much better this morning, especially after washing my hair.

Your meal last night sounds delicious Summer, I am glad you had a good birthday.  Yogi I hope today goes well.

Rotten luck Pirate there are some real creeps in this world.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Summer, I hope you have a good meal out with your friends tonight

Yogi, I hope all systems are go with a visit from your middle son & DIL this evening

Squiggle, I'm pleased you are feeling much better this morning

When I went shopping this morning I saw two jack russells on guard duty at the shop entrance. They weren't tied up, just patiently waiting there. They must have been very well trained.

A client of mine who is self employed seems not to have been paying his class 2 national insurance for a few years. (that should have been paid by direct debit or by cheque and doesn't go on the tax return, so accountants don't usually deal with that, though that does change from the tax year we are currently in).

The client has a very small pension so HMRC decided to collect this class 2 NI by adjusting his tax code for the pension.

However, that was rather silly as the pension is so small that even with the lower tax code, no tax gets deducted from the pension so the class 3 NI didin't get paid.

So I do the client's tax return. There is a box on the tax return for putting this uncollected money. But there's a problem. The way the self assessment tax is calculated is to bring in the smaller of that uncollected tax and the tax deducted from the pension which of course in nil.

The result is that it's impossible to pay the class 2 NI through this client's tax return.

Good morning everyone.

It has rained overnight and is overcast atm.

I'm glad you are on the mend, Squiggle.

El, it would be good for your client if HMRC will write off the money owed.

Summer, I'm glad you had a nice evening, and it's always nice to fine another good place to eat.

No visitors expected so I intend having a very lazy day.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning it's rather windy here today.

Squiggle i'm glad you're on the mend and hope that you had a box of balm tissues I ate a bruschetta starter and then a chill & lime squid pasta dish, which was delicious. My friend had a birthday cake sent out as dessert, the candle was a big sparkly thing that opened up like a flower and revealed 8 smaller candles on the petals! I've never seen anything like it before

what are everyone's plans today?

~Sparkling Summer~

Squiggle, I'm glad that your cold is clearing up

Yogi, it's possible HMRC will write off that class 2 NI as it doesn't look as if it can be collected through the self assessment tax return system and the class 2 NI is no longer collected through the direct debit or billing system so the department who did that may have been disbanded.

Summer, that seems quite a clever candle display

Moonie, I'm not sure Cheltenham will get much from the game at Dover as Dover are fairly high in the league and Cheltenham has been a bit off the boil this year as 2 matches postponed due to bad weather & they've so far had just 2 draws.

El Loro

Well El, they got out of jail

Two goals in 55 seconds. One a pen, definitely was. Then a follow up goal to clinch the points and go clear at the top. Dover having scored after 84 minutes I believe

The last quarter of an hour was brilliant

Hi Sweet

The game took a while to get going but ended up a good one

Hope you and Bramble are having a good day

Moonie, I see all the action took place at the end of the game, Dover 1 Cheltenham 2 so no change at the top with Cheltenham 2 points ahead of Forest Green.

El, Forest Green had been a point in front of Cheltenham until todays result

Forest Green were only ahead because they played yesterday

My point being the lead had changed today, so Cheltenham did go back to top of the league
