Squiggle, the code for the laughing smiley is : laugh : with no spaces between the two colons and the word laugh.
Spackle sounds like a fish Where did you learn that word?
my mum went back to the doctors today and is hopeful about travelling, she'll make her decision tomorrow night
what have you been up to yogi?
That sounds promising, Summer.
I've been hand delivering cards in the village and went to the garden centre to stock up on nuts and seeds for the birds.
I'm wilting so I'll say goodnight everyone.

Thanks squiggle she's quite wilful so I'm sure she'll try her utmost to be here. It wouldn't be the same without her humbugging and me telling her off for it lol

Good morning I thought I'd pop in now because I know I'm going to have a busy day & evening. I hope you all have a lovely day
only 3 sleeps to go, oh my goodness!
Good morning everyone
Cloudy and windy here. A dry monring and wet afternoon forecast.
Summer, I hope your busy day goes well
Good news re private messages, what we wanted has been implemented
Squiggle, when I saw your word spackle I thought I wonder if that's something decorative such as putting sparkly things up. And so I looked it up and it's not as exciting as I thought
Tree conservationists have unveiled their list of the 12 trees of Christmas to highlight the plight of some species of conifer. About one third of species are under threat of extinction.

2 which stand out on the list are the Fraser fir which is native to the Appalachian Mountains which is a popular Christmas tree and the Monkey Puzzle tree.

Hi Summer, I get the feeling your Mum is definitely going to make it - good for her I hope your busy day is also a lovely and heartwarming one
I am reading a Mary Higgins Clark short story and the word was used in there, 'we have spackled and freshly painted everywhere' so I was thinking what on earth could that be? Turns out it is American for polyfilla type stuff You learn something new every day
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, spackle=polyfilla, and there I was thinking of some Somerset dialect word. Just think of The Wurzels
Forth road bridge to be reopened tomorrow at 6 am with the emergency repair work having been completed ahead of schedule

It does sound like that I agree, well spackle my mangel wurzels!
Good news about the Forth Road Bridge hopefully it will make people's journeys easier.
Everyone. Hope you all well. Sorry i havent been around, been busy with the family.
Been out shopping this morning, thinking about venturing in to town later, but may leave it till the morning cant handle busy , hot shops with blaring music!!
Have a happy day all
Skylark, I don't like busy shops or blaring music either I try to go first thing as that's generally the quietest time. There was an item on Radio 4's Today programme this morning on the subject of blaring music in shops
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06s98cc
Starts at 1.43
The days of blaring music in shops may be coming to an end with more relaxing music taking its place.
Virtually the same item on music in shops was shown on the BBC news just now, so I'll post the link to the video clip:

Hi El, glad others agree, re music in shops. Was in Tesco this morning, the music was so loud i couldnt think what i was in for , and that was at 8.15 am ! I dont know who the singer was, but it was dire and depressing too. Some female screeching. In another shop it was WHAM, again........ Just been in town, getting son Kevin Bridges DVD in HMV, i wont even tell you how loud that music was!!
End of rant
Bit of a bah humbug today!
Its unlikely i will be back on before the big day, so i will wish you all a very Merry Christmas
Love and take care everyone
Afternoon everyone.
Went to Morrisons this morning then Costco in the afternoon. All the food shopping is done and my M&S food is arriving tomorrow. I think I'm all set but I'm sure I've forgotten something.
Skylark, thank you and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas as well

Thanks Skylark, hope you have a good Christmas too.

Yogi, I'm sure you won't have forgotten much but if you have I've found the stores seem to have it all stocked these days up until the big day
I wandered off, sorry Velvet.
Mr Yogi is going to pop to the shops tomorrow to pick up anything we've forgotten.
I'm going to get off and watch a dvd and hopefully conk out.
Goodnight and sweet dreams Velvet.
Hugs for the night owls.
Merry Christmas sky lark- hope you have a lovely one
night yogi EL skylark velvet and summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone
A sunnier day here today with a low risk of any rain.
That film I mentioned the other day, A Christmas without Snow, is being shown on True Entertainment this afternoon at 3.
Good morning everyone, we have a bit of blue sky here, such a lovely change.
Skylark I hope you and your family have a lovely time over Christmas
Thanks for that EL I will make sure to record that film, it looks good.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone.
No rain atm.
Thanks for the heads up about the film, El.
Got a little bit of running around to do, and a carpet to shampoo!
Have a good day everyone.
Did some shopping at M&S this morning. Very busy and crowded. M&S was organised though as they had a system set up for the queue at the check outs so didn't take an excessive time. If it's that busy this morning, it's nothing compared to what it will be like tomorrow.
Yogi, good luck with shampooing the carpet but will the hordes descending on you over Christmas make the carpet need doing again?
