Yes, she came for a few hours this afternoon. At one point, she ended up in the "big bed" in the spare room, watching a dvd - with ten dolls and soft toys in beside her.

Awwww that's lovely

Ten dolls, she doesn't do things by half does she?

That's just the ones at my house. I'm banned from buying her any more.

Wonders how long that will last

Till the next time we are out together and she says, "Granny, I would like that doll please"

Excellent and quite sensible too

Mr Yogi might not agree - we're running out of space!

Going to get off to bed now, goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie.

Night owl hugs for Ros and Velvet.

Nite nite Yogi, sleep well. Sweet dreams

Good morning everyone.

Weather is still rainy, but not as bad as yesterday.

Out and about today.

Hope you have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, still very windy.  Moonie if you love to hear the wind on the windows you should pay me a visit.  It's so windy here that yesterday when I went to the cashpoint outside our local Tesco, which is up high and in a very exposed spot it took me quite a while to get the car door open and getting back in I got one leg in and had to struggle for a couple of minutes for the wind to die down enough for me to push the door open to get the other leg back in.  It felt like a strong person was pushing the door against me.

The small birds don't venture out and the big birds love it, they get blown sideways by the wind, sometimes even backwards.

Summer that bit about Chatsworth was on Songs of Praise, there were a couple of bits about it, and it should certainly be on catch-up.  Worth watching and I did wonder whether you were near enough to visit, I'm not sure how close it is to you.

So charming about PB, what a little sweetheart she is.  Oh and weren't the pictures of Princess Charlotte adorable?

Enjoy your day everyone

Yogi, I hope you have a good out and about day

Because of the timing of the forum change the chances are that I'll miss the fun and games when the new style forum opens. The only person who has had access to the new style forum is Lori which means that she is going to have to answer people's questions to start with.

El Loro

Squiggle, that was Clodagh pushing the car door against you

Years ago I was in Birmingham. There's a pedestrian subway near the townhall. It was a windy day and as I coming out of the subway, it was as if I was in a wind tunnel and the only way to progress was by hanging on to the rail at the side and struggle along. The wind speed must have been something like 100mph.

Moonie, I'm staying indoors today as it's not very nice out there.

There's a couple of workmen at a neighbour's house. They've been taking up the concrete on the drive. In the last 4 hours they've removed a patch about 4 foot long and 5 foot wide at the back of that house.

They could be there for quite some time.

Sounds like those workmen have their job cut out El

At the bottom our garden, my dad laid a concrete path around what used to be his greenhouse. That was forty or more years ago, he used to tell me. It's still there no cracks or nothing in it.

He also laid the crazy paving path down the left side of the garden. Still intact though in need of pointing now.

Good afternoon wet & wild here, Bramble refused her lunch time walk

Thanks squiggle, I'll look it up. Chatsworth is 3 hours from here, it's a trip that requires a bit of planning but I have been twice before and I love it there
I hope you're alright after your windy battle

Moonie, your dad must have been a good craftsman if the paths still look good

Moonie

Hi moonie and El, was reading thru the Jungle thread.

Yes sensible moonie, get yourself sorted with the shopping the days weather can be so unpredictable, keep warm and dry x
Hi El, yes are you ready for all the questions tomorrow??  I quite like the layout as it is, but will go with the flow , nothing else for it.
Away this time, will see you all tomorrow.. hopefully.....

FM

Skylark, I'm no more ready for the questions than anyone else other than Lori

She's the only person whose been involved with creating the new forum site and the forum moderators haven't had access to it.

So eveything I've posted about it has been guesswork based on what bits of info I found on the Social Strata site.

El Loro

A still from the 1946 film The Stranger starring Orson Welles and Loretta Young. She has gone into a clock tower and has climbed a ladder. She's almost at the top when Welles stops her from climbing any further as he has sawn a rung at the top. He grabs her by the arm and lifts her with one arm to safety.

The Stranger

It is on record that this is not a special effects job, that no stunt people were involved, that she really was dangling from the top of that very tall ladder held by one arm by Orson Welles.

Now that's really hanging on

Good morning everyone.

Well, I managed to sign in and find out how to post, so that's a start!

First impression is that it's bright and the posts are easy to read.

Front page needs a bit more scrolling as fewer thread titles show on the iPad, and hopefully having to untick the "follow" box every time you post will become second nature, otherwise we are in for a lot of emails! lol

Yogi19

Good morning everyone

We seem to be up and running here. I'll have to look around to familiarise myself. I'm not sure if we do need to untick that Follow box every time we make a post. In the Notifications settings the first item, if unticked, should mean that there's no need to untick the Follow box when making replies. Lori did say that it was the same with the old forum.

Very cloudy here today.

El Loro

Well it's very different, it seems odd not to have the pictures by our names, I've forgotten what they are called. Anyway good morning everyone still very windy and wet here.

What do we all think? It seems easy to use.

Enjoy your day everyone, can't work out the smilies at the moment

EDIT I remembered Avatars!
