The swans are doing well. I think will be heading off soon. The cygnets are huge now

Aw how quickly they grow I hope they keep warm enough out there

When I was last up there a few days ago, I was freezing but they seemed fine. Full of life and preening like mad 

I love the way they swill their mouths out after a preening session and stretch and flap their wings 

I imagine that's a beautiful sight moonie, and that they're very graceful. My mum frequently visits some near her home

Yes indeed, very beautiful. Especially when you have seen them since they was eggs

A fair amount of blue sky here but it's cold and frosty. Rain forecast tonight and gets a bit warmer.

A very Happy Birthday to Moonie

Recently i've noticed pressure problems with my bolier heating. Yesterday when I got back from church I found that the heating was off even though the thermostat control showed that it was asking for heat. The boiler screen showed that the heating had switched to off, that the boiler was showing that it had received the heating required signal from the thermostat control, and that the pressire was clearly too low at about 0.75. So I filled it up to get it to 1.25 (at cold should be that sort of level). Heating came back on. But after a time I noticed that the pressure was around 3 getting very close to the red zone so I released some water from one of the radiators to get the pressure down a bit.

This morning, same again. The problem's been worse due to this cold snap. I rang my boiler man first thing and he's coming Friday afternoon as it's not an emergency. His first thought is that the boiler vessel needs to be recharged for the pressure.

Goodness that sounds complicated EL, I don't think I would be able to cope as well as you, I wouldn't know where to start.

Squiggle, increasing the boiler pressure via the little tap on the bottom of my boiler and reducing it via bleeding a radiator is relatively straightforward and is worth checking out how to do it in case you need to. What the boiler engineer was talking about is not the same thing as topping up the water and is something for an engineer to do, not a layperson.

 

Thanks, Yogi I do have heating, it's just that if I find that it's switched off due to low pressure I have to get the pressure back up to get the the heating back on. Luckily today is the last really cold day this week.

Summer, thanks I hope the heating can be fixed fairly easily but at least I've arranged for it to be sorted and the man I use is the same person I've used for servicing ever since he installed it.
