Summer, I hope he is safe also. If I hear later I'll post an update.
I'm glad Bramble had got full marks

Squiggle, I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight
It would be difficult to rescue the swimmer as there's no public access to the banks which have sinking sand.
Points West is expected to have a report on the swimmer's attempt in their 6.30 bulletin. It should be available for viewing a bit later this evening:

Latest is that he's still in the river.
Just been announced that he has completed that dangerous part of the swim and is safe
That's good news, and well done to Bramble

Thanks EL, I hope so too
Evening all.
I've had a trip to A&E, following an accident with a glass. Only a little gash on the inside of my wrist but I wasn't sure if there was a sliver of glass in it. Nice junior doc washed it out, poked around with tweezers to make sure there was no glass left in it and glued it up.
Squiggle, I hope you sleep better tonight.
El, I'm glad the swimmer is okay but the challenge seems a bit reckless.
Summer, I'm glad Bramble got on well at the vets.
No Moonie for a few days.
Sorry Summer, I was in The Apprentice thread.
I'm okay, it's just throbbing a bit.
Goodnight and sweet dreams. Night owl hugs.
night yogiand summer
Good morning everyone
Mainly cloudy here and may stay dry.
Yogi, that accident could have been nasty but I'm glad you are OK Oddly enough some days ago I had a brief dream where I dropped a glass and cut my fingers when I picked up the pieces.
Squiggle, I hope you had a better night's sleep to make up for the previous night
Summer, the man swimming the River Severn is doing it for charity.

Good morning everyone.
Windy and rainy overnight but brightening up now.
I've got a delivery coming this afternoon and I need to go grocery shopping this morning.
Have a good day everyone.
Yogi, I hope the people delivering to you today don't mess you around.
Good morning everyone, very blustery this morning, lots of grey cloud about.
That sounds such a nasty accident Yogi, I am glad you were able to be treated by that nice doctor, I hope it heals quickly, I hope you manage to stay dry when dashing about and your delivery arrives on time.
Thank you everyone, I did sleep better and feel more refreshed this morning.
Isn't it odd that you should dream that and then Yogi goes and has an accident with a glass EL?
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, I'm glad you had a better night's sleep
It's strange about my dream but just a coincidence. I don't think I'm psychic
Got this email a short time ago:
"Hello
Just found you by googling accountants and found you. Just been to your website which I have to say is extremely poor especially the outdated design and layout. Sorry
Anyway, I am an IT contractor seeking to set up a Limited company and require assistance on all aspects of accountancy and tax
Thanks,"
That;s no way to try to find an accountant. I've noticed that the email is a bcc one (standing for blind carbon copy) and also sent to undsiclosed recipients. You use bcc if you are sending the same email to more than one address and don't want the recipient knowing who else you've sent it to.
So in all probability the person isn't really looking for an accountant, just another way of trying to get firms of accountants going to him to get their websites redesigned.
I'm not replying.
Yogi, I hope the people delivering to you today don't mess you around.
It's AO.com who are delivering a tumble dryer. The delivery is between 1-5pm and they were very reliable when we previously used them, so fingers crossed they are as good this time.
Squiggle, I'm glad you slept better last night.
Summer, it's very blustery up here too, but it's dry atm and the sun is shining.
El, that was a cheeky email you received. I'm not surprised you aren't replying to it.
I bought a gingerbread cake when I went shopping. I wonder if it's enough to tempt Moonie back?
Yogi, I hope the smell of your gingerbread does tempt Moonie
I hope AO deliver on time.
Everyone
What a cheeky email, El, glad you didnt reply!
Very windy here today, no TV, its all pixilated , if thats the right word.
Hope your injury isnt giving you too much pain Yogi, x
Hope the rest of you are well, and moonie too.

Hi Yogi, aw yes these cuts can throb x
Glad you got your delivery ok, seems a good company
TV,s still off, missed Judge Judy ! xx
Skylark, if you are getting nothing (no sound or picture), just a crackling sound with a screen which looks like this (but without any message)
then your television isn't getting any signal, If it's an older set which used to be able to get analogue television check that you haven't accidentally pushed the button which switches between DVB and analogue.
If that's not it you could check with your neighbours if they are having the same problem.
If they don't and the problem continues, it may be that your aerial has been blown around so isn't getting reception.
If you have a recorder with a tuner, see if you can get any reception on that. If you do then that indicates that it's the television. If you don't then it's external.
Thanks El, will check x
Apologies for diappearing. Been speaking to my best friend on the phone, getting all the goss on her new granddaughter.

Catch up later.
Aww bless Yogi, give us all the gossip then
I spoke to another accountant about that email and he agrees with me. He suggested that I could reply saying something like "as I am like my website, extremely poor and outdated, you might want to tey another accountant"

Dont even let those who sent email bother you. Dont reply, you are better than that. xx
Hi Summer, good you got good deal.
My TV,s are with freeview , so affected by the wind, for some reason. I dont have satellite. Wind seems to have setted down a bit now, thank goodness x
Summer, cant tell you, love Downton, lots to watch, enjoy Take care xx
Skylark, I deleted that email as I didn't want to waste my time. I think it very unlikely that it was a genuine potential client and as Summer says, if he was, likely to be a problematical one.
I didn't post the person's name but it was not a comnmon name and so I checked on the 192 site and found only 2 people in the UK with that name and neither of them in my county. I only accept local people as clients to keep it easy to meet them.
Skylark, a thread on DS re windy condtions affecting Freeview:
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk...thread.php?t=1898510
I hope noe that the wind has calmed down a bit you are getting reception.
