Cloudy dry day here.

 

I had recorded ITV's Midwinter of the Spirit and watched all three episodes last night. Merrily Watkins (the excellent Anna Maxwell-Martin) is a newish Anglican priest in the Herefordshire diocese who has been trained in what is called the deliverance ministry (most people would think of it as exorcism) and is called in by the local police as a man is found in the woods crucified.

Fascinating and entralling. Although the story is fiction, the background is authentic. It's more of good versus evil rather then a detective story (and doesn't have spinning heads). If the conclusion seems unlikely, on reflection, it isn't.

My church is still trying to find a second churchwarden (there's supposed to be two) but so far no-one has come forward (been like this since April). Today the vicar had pieces of paper given to the congregation for them to make suggestions as to who could be approached. Vicar will look at the suggestions and may then contact some of the people suggested, though won't coerce anyone against their willingness or availability.

I've said before that i'm not willing as I've done my fair share with 25 years as the church treasurer.

In the morning/early afternoon, hubby and I had a lovely walk in a little seaside town which isn't too far from us. Later in the afternoon, youngest son popped in for a visit.
