I was watching the BBC1 news at 1pm yesterday when the news presenter announced that Tomas Lindahl (Swedish but works in the UK) and others had been awarded the Nobel prize for chemistry.

She pronounced Nobel as noble (no-bull) instead of no-bell. A BBC newsreader should know better. (not in iplayer)

My hoover blew up, so I had to make a mad dash to Argos to buy yet another a new one. I go through as many hoovers as I do washing machines.

 

Love the swans and cygnets clip, and the clip of the French bulldog chasing the bears.

And I'm still using mine which is over 20 years old. They just don't make them to last nowadays.

However, I do vacuum an awful lot because of Keira's hairs - sometime I vacuum three times a day!

Yes I am thank you, it's been very relaxing and it's warm but not too hot. I have eaten rather a lot though

What kind of Hoover did you go for?

It's a bagless Vax and it's supposed to be good for pet hairs.

TBH, it doesn't really matter what kind I get, I kill all of them.

Out & about today, we drove up to a quaint little village and had a nice lunch. Then went out for ice cream here this evening. We've got a birthday party to attend tomorrow, so everyone's having an early night tonight. But I'm already so relaxed that I can't go to sleep just yet

Yes, I watched the final of Bake Off. I was rooting for Tamal, I thought he was such a nice person. Who did you want to win?

Same. I really didn't like the winner, no doubt it was judged fairly on the day and all that but I still won't be thrilled when I watch it lol

I tried to watch a couple of things on the I player/e4 catch up, but it won't let me from abroad.

Did anyone leave strictly this weekend?

Someone in the Bake Off thread suggested that the judges should do blind tasting, which would mean there was less chance of favouritism.

TBF, Iwan wasn't very good. He tried hard but had no natural talent.

I think Peter, Jay and Helen were the top three.

I like the top 3 and I also like Katie who is dancing with Anton, and Anita who is dancing with Gleb.

I'm glad that Anton has a better partner this year
I was surprised that Kirsty was so nervous

I'm chuffed to bits that Anton has a decent partner, and she seems really lovely too.

I don't like Kirsty, she seems to think she is better than she is, and scowls when the scores come in.

Does she?! I can't wait to watch the show properly when I get home- I hate scowling lol that's why I didn't like the bake off winner.

Does mr yogi watch strictly with you?

No, Mr Yogi disappears when Strictly is on. 

The only celeb/reality type show he watches is, I'm A Celebrity.
