Afternoon peeps, waveypoodles

Fankoo for all you 'best wishes'

Have just and am still getting over a dire dose of flu on top of all my other  ailments

Don't really feel like sitting in front of a laptop/iPad chatting tbh

Lovely day here after a cold cloudy start to the day

Sweet, nice to have a picnic outside at this time of year

El, hope your marathon account is going well

Rather you than me

Squiggle, sorry to hear about your badger probs. You can relocate him here if you like

Yogi, I hope you have a super time with Princess PB

See you all again soon

When I was cutting the hedge at the front this morning a van stopped outside my house. The driver came out and took a photo of my house. Not surprsingly I was puzzled and asked him why he had done that. He said he was delivering a parcel to me and it was the parcel company's policy to do that whenever they make a delivery.

DX group.

The parcel was some tax tecnical books I had ordered.

Good morninng everyone

Cloudy here, forecast to become sunny later.

Summer, the delivery company may require the drivers to take a photo of the house so that if the person due to get the parcel later says they haven't received it the company has photographic evidence.

Yogi, I hope you are having a good time with PB.

Good morning everyone, another lovely morning.  It's been such a lovely week weatherwise, such a pity it is coming to an end by Sunday night.

Aww moonie, nice to hear from you but so sorry to hear you have the flu As Summer says, stay warm and drink lots of fluids - and I hear that watching plenty of sport helps to cut the flu short

I hope PB's sleepover is going well Yogi.  Must have seemed a bit of a funny thing to see EL, someone taking a picture of your house, but I can see the sense of it.  One of those odd things that would never have happened before the age of digital photography.

Enjoy your day everyone

It depends on what the effects of El Nino are (no relation ). That's the weather event which happens every few uears in the Pacific ocean but can affect the climate around the world cauisng droughts, floods, etc, It can affect the climate in the UK though they can't predict if, when, or how. Though the Express loves having scare stories as to what could happen.

Afternoon peeps of the Buddies persuasion

It started off cool and cloudy here, now it's warm and sunny

Just managed to rustle up some washing, which is now doing nicely

It seems to me that one newspaper or another has been promising us "Indian Summers or Arctic Winters" fast as many years as I can remember. Still waiting. I shall worry when they happen

Have a great day everyone

Just found out that my Virgin Media speed will increase from 50 to 70. It seems that the upgrade has been done in my area. The process starts with being required to effectively do an upgrade order (though should not affect the price). I will get an email within 48 hours as to progress with the order.

I'll let you know what happens in due course. I had been expecting this to be automatically done but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Info on the Virgin speed increases:

If you’re an existing broadband customer on 50Mbps or below, 100Mbps or 152Mbps, we’ll offer you an upgrade to our more powerful speeds of SuperFibre 70Mbps, VIVID 150Mbps and VIVID 200Mbps

So not the rumoured doubling. People with older super hubs may need newer ones but Virgin will tell you if that's the case.

The upgrade speeds are being rolled out from now for the next 6 months so I'm one of the first.

I don't know if you accepting the upgrade means that your contract period with them starts all over again. That's something which you may need to find out if that's a concern.

Evening all.

I have had a lovely two days with PB.

She helped me to make potato and leek soup today - let's just say that some of the diced potatoes were an odd shape.

Moonie, it's good to see you back, but I'm sorry you are suffering with flu.

Squiggle, I loved the clip of the golden retriever.

El, thanks for the info about the Virgin broadband.

Summer, how are your Christmas cards coming along?

*night owls* evening

Yogi I'm glad you & PB have had a good couple of days what is our little ray of sunshine saying & doing now?
My cards are coming along nicely thank you, I've stalled this week because of other things going on but now that's settled, I'm ready to get back to crafting again

Funny seeing moonie & el's comments about the daily express- that's exactly why we stopped buying it at work
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone.

Will Robinson is around today, it took several attempts to get onto the site.

Weather is dry and bright. I might try to get some weeding done today.

lol El, some of the potato pieces looked like pigs, cockerels and dinosaurs.

Summer, PB made me laugh when I asked her if she liked cooking and she said, "Normally, I do". Normally is her new buzz word.

When she was small, grandad used to swing her around as if she was sitting on a merry-go-round, whilst whistling a tune. Unfortunately for grandad, she still loves to do it, but she weighs a lot more now! After several turns, Grandad was shattered and lay on the couch, saying he couldn't do it any more, but PB had other ideas. She held his face and pleaded, "Again, again, Grandad! You can do it!".

Have a good day everyone, catch up later.

Good morning everyone, misty start but burning off now.

Ha ha that made me smile, poor Mr Yogi, PB is quite the little motivator How to keep fit in your retirement

EL 2 of the Christmas movies I have already seen so I am recording the third one.

Hope you are feeling better this morning moonie.

Enjoy your day everyone

Back from shopping in Cheltenham (nothing special in the way of cake though). There was considerably more traffic than normal for some reason. I'll try to find out if there's a reason.

Yogi, PB may decide to become a personal fitness trainer

Squiggle, I'm glad the mist is burning off where you are. Still a bit misty here and no sign of any blue sky.

It must be because of the Cheltenham Literary Festival. It's an annual event but Cheltenham does seem a lot busier this time. Hightlights today include:

The above are the writers talking about their book(s) (That's Boris Becker if you didn't recognise him)

There's also a Harry Potter thing going on but J K Rowling isn't involved.

Well done Cheltenham Town...I was keeping an eye on that game on the telly printer

Lots of high scoring games today elsewhere too El

There were indeed but I think Cheltenham scored the most.
