Sorry for my absence yesterday, I had one of those awful days where everything goes horrid and you're glad to fall into bed at the end of it.

My mum leaves in the morning, we've had a pleasant day today and now that she has joined the downtown club, we watched it together tonight

Good morning everyone, it's raining here too but I don't mind too much as I'm intending on staying put.

 

Yogi that does sound a lovely family day and an extra visit from PB too, I bet she was thrilled to see her nana again. 

 

Oh that sounds an awful day on Saturday Summer but I'm glad you had a good day yesterday to make up.  The badger didn't come back again last night, I have to bear in mind that he is just looking for his dinner and the lawn soon knits together again.  He considers my garden part of his territory and a bit (OK quite a lot ) of patting the grass back down again is part of the price I pay for living in this beautiful spot.

 

I am glad your weekend was so enjoyable EL, as you and your brother will probably finish your present game next time you will have to be on the lookout for a new game come Christmastime.

Thank you squiggle We may finish that game during my brother's next visit but if not would certainly finish it over Christmas. There's very little in the way of adventure games being made nowadays so there's unlikely to be much to choose from. I've already bought one over Steam as it was being sold one weekend at half price. It's one that you may have come across when it was first released back in 1998 by LucasArts called Grim Fandango. A remastered version has been made which is the one I've got. I had the original but never completed it but in 1998 there wasn't that much in the way of walkthroughs and more in the way of lust a list of hints which weren't always that helpful.

The subject matter is questionable being influenced by the Mexican Day of the Dead but the game is regarded as one of the classics in the adventure genre.

 

No news on Syberia 3 as to when or if that will be released so I'm not expecting it this year. That of course would be the highlight.

 

A thought just occurs to me EL have you ever tried a demo of a Nancy Drew game?  I know they sound very girly but some of them are quite complex point and click adventures and of course there are plenty of 'em.  The Curse of Blackmoor Manor is one of my favourites and at times quite baffling http://store.steampowered.com/app/31830/ just a thought

Thanks EL I hope you will try one, The Haunting of Castle Malloy was also good and had me laughing out loud at one extremely tricky puzzle which was also very funny - you had to shear sheep after you have rounded them up and believe me that doesn't get anywhere near describing how the sheep turned out   As for Blackmoor Manor if you can solve the revolving puzzle room without the help of a walkthrough you are far far cleverer than me.

Keira got on very well at the new groomer's. She's close enough to walk Keira there and back, and she made a good job of it, so I intend using her again.

I'm back from collecting the accounting records.

7 boxes of them though a couple seem not to have that much in them.

 

It mightn't seem like that but I collected the records last year several weeks earlier, in fact 2 months earlier so I'm starting them quite a lot later this year.

I'll certainly be still working on them at but will have to have finished before as the accounts have to be filed by the end of the year.

 

Moonie, I'm sorry to say but the cakes my brother brought have vanished, I can't find any trace of them apart from some wrappers
