Pardon me, I had to dash off to peel the garlic that I forgot about and there's was me thinking I was organised lol
The dinner is looking fabulous and should soon be ready

El, I'll check if the ink is going through but I didn't noticed the pages only have pictures on 1 side.
I can't believe its that of year again already- where have the last 12 months gone!

Squiggle, I'm having a much happier day than yesterday thank you I hear the girls who are in today, are just as busy as we were yesterday. Thank goodness the madness is almost over
How is your day going?
~Sparkling Summer~

The milk people got my letter and rang me to try and get me to change my mind but I haven't. No real explanation given as to why no milk delivered though they apologised. Also the man who rang me kept on referring to my email rather than my letter and that the 3 phone calls I made were yesterday rather than Monday which didn't give me much confidence in them.

El Loro

They don't sound as if they've got their act together at all EL sadly.  It was a good idea but it takes quite a bit of organisation though which seems to be lacking.

My day is going well thanks Summer, I am just putting the last finishing touches to the conservatory by re-staining a pine counter, I have put 3 coats on today and I will varnish it tomorrow.

Good morning everyone.

Weather is cloudy and dry.

Why would anyone drive onto a beach, even if the sat nav was teling them to?

Reminded me of the night we were on a coach going back to the airport in Corfu, and the dopey driver decided to turn around the coach on the beach - we got stuck! By the time they sent a second coach to take us to the airport, we were all covered in mosquito bites!

I like the idea of the adult colouring books. I'm not artistic enough to draw anything myself, but I was always neat at colouring in.

El, you are correct, they can be used as a form of therapy to de-stress and calm people.

Squiggle, does your pine counter now looks lovely?

Summer, I hope you enjoyed your day off (and your lamb chops).

Ros, I hope the kids are on their best behaviour on their return to school.

Have a good day everyone.

Someone has been busy counting how many tress there are on the planet. It must have taken taken some time as they reckon there's three trillion of them. That's 3,000,000,000,000.

There's around 7.3 billion people (7,300,000,000) so about 411 trees per person. The BBC article has it at 420 but my figure for people is based on the current estimate of the population.

Good morning everyone, I am glad it all went well with PB Yogi apart from the wasps, they can be a real nuisance at this time of year.  Yes the pine counter is looking good, I stained a bit on top of the washing machine as well oops so I've been getting rid of that this morning.  Time for the varnish.

Summer I hope your meal was very tasty.

The trees are beginning to change colour really quickly, I wonder how many I have opposite to me EL - too many to count.

Enjoy your day everyone

On an accountancy website some mildly amusing stories have been posted about tax investigations. The best one I saw was this one:

"My Dad worked from home around the 1980’s and I can remember on one occasion when he was stressing over a Vat inspection for a particular building contractor who kept terrible records. He knew it would lead to a full investigation.

At eleven o clock on the morning of the investigation my dad asked the inspector if he fancied something with his coffee and he replied I would love a small scotch.

I am very proud of my dad for seizing this opportunity.

I came in from school and the vat inspector was dancing around the lounge with my Aunty Jo (secretary) singing at the top of his voice and telling everybody to shush and to keep our little secret between ourselves.

My brother drove him home a few hours later with him snoozing in the passenger seat and we had a letter a few weeks later stating the investigation was closed with a zero assessment.

Never tried this with my own practice but it might pay to keep a bottle close to hand."

Good morning we did it- the back to school rush is finally over, phew! I suspect we'll be very busy after school today but that's a couple of hours, not all day, so we'll cope

I had a lovely meal out with some friends last night, I had a delicious salad with Avacado/cherry tomato/red onion. I'd definitely go back to that restaurant.

Yogi, what a shame those wasps spoiled your fun, how did PB cope with that situation?

Squiggle, I bet your conservatory is looking wonderful, do you enjoy doing the furniture yourself?

El, I love trees

Protest outside Shire Hall today in Gloucester against possible fracking in the Forest of Dean:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-e...cestershire-34137975

Although the Forest of Dean has its own locak council, any planning decisions would need to be done by the county council at Shire Hall.

The article does mention mines (coal used to be mined there) so there is the possibility of earth tremors (there are some minor ones there over the years).

I hope you managed to get the stain off the washing machine.

I love avacado and cherry tomatoes - your salad sounds yum.

I did thank you I hope the car repairs don't cost too much.

I quite like it when you see things looking nice and shiny again Summer.  The first coat of varnish looks great and I think I will just add one more coat.

Thanks El.

I'm getting new brake pads and a new brake light bulb fitted. I also have a broken seal on one of my headlights, which my hubby and sons are certain happened when the man reversed into me. Unfortunately, I didn't pick it up at the time and neither did the insurance repairer.

Thank Squiggle, it shouldn't be too costly. *crosses fingers*

Good morning everyone

Mostly cloudy here, may be a shower later on.

Ros, I'm glad yesterday was OK

Yogi, I hope you get your car back today

Judging from the trailer I saw for last night's CBB I'm not missing anything.

There's a new advert being shown for Welsh lamb. It's on Channel 5 and some other channels so anyone who watches CBB is likely to see it. I haveb't found it on Youtube yet as it's new.

It ends with the voiceover saying "There's lamb...and there's Welsh Lamb" as a non-Welsh person would say it, but on the screen it shows "There's lamb...and there's Welsh Llamb". The use of the double L is a little joke referencing all those places in Wales which so start and names such as Lloyd. Any Welsh speaker would know that LL is not pronounced as L

Considering the advert is made by Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales) I would have thought they should have realised that.

(and I'm not Welsh )

El Loro

Good morning everyone.

Weather is dry and bright.

Oh dear, I wonder why they didn't check the pronunciation, El?

I need to go the bank and pick up my prescription today.

When I was in Morrison's yesterday, I got a call from my GP practice about the Azathioprine, - I think my nurse from the hospital had been in touch with them, as he promised he would.

She said the bloods I had done on Tuesday were fine and agreed I only need blood tests every eight weeks.

Have a good day everyone.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, good news about the blood tests.  On first reading through I thought 'why is Yogi picking up her prescription from the bank'?

I will probably never see the advert EL as I always watch the next day and fast forward through the ads.  I listened to how to pronounce Llanelli about 3 times and I'm still none the wiser, it didn't seem to sound much like my poor effort to pronounce it.

Enjoy your day everyone

I should have put a comma after, 'bank'.

Squiggle, I think Yogi is going to the bank for one thing and also the doctors or chemist for the prescription

Here's a clip which shows how to pronounce the Welsh LL and it does work.

The man finishes off with that famous place with the longest name:

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Just been cutting the grass whilst it's reasonably dry. It's the first time this year that there's been the expected level of grass cut and the grass looks a lot healthier than any other time this year.

Got back in to receive an automated phone call from the Co-op Bank. Ring them back immediately as they have concern over possible fraudulent activity on my account

Actually I knew what it was about as I have had a bond with them which is maturing so I'm closing the account and moving it elsewhere as I can get a slightly better deal elsewhere. I rang back of course and did the ID checks and confirmed that the transfer I'm making is genuine but the call could have alarmed some people. At least the Co-op was making sure that it wasn't an attempted fraud.
