I am glad your TV and broadband is back on Yogi.  You have a cable with Virgin don't you?  I wonder why they would be affected, it seems daft, I can understand my Sky dish being affected but I would have thought a cable would be safer.

Yes, it's cable with Virgin. I don't understand why it happened - unless someone cut through electricity cables and Virgin ones while they were digging up somewhere? It did happen the last time we had a power cut too.

But, at least you are connected again now Yogi    

 And I'm very happy about that!

Me too! I like Poirot as well.

One weekend, I watched so many Poirots, I was thinking in his heavily accented English.

 It was bizarre! 

Of that I have no doubt

Some blue sky here, forecast is for mainly cloudy conditions, generally dry, getting a bit warmer.

I think I've seen all the David Suchet Poirots, all of the Julia McKenzie/Geraldine McEwan Miss Marples, all of the Joan Hickson Miss Marples, and some of the Margaret Rutherford film adaptations of Miss Marple.

The final one made Endless Night is the one to avoid. It's not really a Miss Marple - she isn't in it that much, isn't in the original novel and is a nasty dark story totally unlike what you expect from a Miss Marple story.

El, I think I've also seen all the Poirots and Miss Marples you mentioned.

I agree with you about Endless Night, it had a very dark feel to it and is probably my least favourite Miss Marple.

Minimal housework this morning, then I'm hoping Mr Yogi and I are going out for lunch.

Yogi, it's almost as if ITV wanted to end their Miss Marple series so made Endless Night to kill it off.

Good morning everyone, I see we are having an Agatha Christie revival in here Did you hear that lovely story about David Suchet who used to get into the role of Poirot so thoroughly that he lived it all the time he was filming.  One of the production staff heard him phoning his wife "Allo my leetle dahling"

A much better morning here although on the weather forecast they were talking about the possibility of frost mid week, somewhere, can't remember where - mid June!!

If I had to select the best Poirot or Miss Marple episode I would choose Poirot's Five Little Pigs. Strong story, absorbing, and some outstanding acting particularly Daivd Suchet (as you would expect) and Rachel Stirling. Very high production values and feels closer to being what you would expect from a top quality film rather than a television show.

El, I'm not sure that I have one favourite Poirot as I liked so many, but I agree that Five Little Pigs was very good.

I remember where I came across that clip now Yogi, on Radio Devon Judi Spiers was interviewing him and had done her research.  She questioned him about it and he admitted it, he came across as such a lovely man.

 I've seen him interviewed a few times and he has always seemed such a nice man.

I'm getting an unexpected PB visit - eldest son has just phoned to say they are on their way. Yayyyyy!!
