Good morning everyone

At present there's some blue sky here, it's forecast to cloud over this afternoon. Possibility of some rain but not expecting any thunderstorms.

A swan and cygnets are on the A40 between Over and the Longford roundabout in Gloucester. Police are trying to rescue them - it's a very busy road indeed.

I hope the swan and cygnets are rescued quickly.

The resident swans from our village pond often take their cygnets for a walk through the village.

Good morning everyone, it's a bit like Springwatch in here this morning   I hope the swans and cygnets are rescued quickly, motorists are usually very good when they spot that birds are around and if the police are there the birds should be back on the water safely soon.  How thrilling Yogi, will PB be around to see the baby birds and can you take a video on your phone to show her?

Not a bad morning here, a little nippy in the mornings but that's only because the sun is on the other side of the house to me.  Skylark I hope your head cold is going away and leaving you able to enjoy a lovely relaxing weekend.

Enjoy your day everyone

Morning Buddies

Just popping in to say "hello" and take my food parcel, fankoo Yogi

I have been following two swans on the park pool at the bottom of our road, from the building of the nest to the now newborn cygnets. They are probably about two weeks old now. There was at least five but only noticed 4 the last time I was up there a couple of days ago

Sad but Mother Nature taking a hand I guess.

I will post a video of e swans close up when I am on my laptop ïŋ―ïŋ―

Have a great day and will be back soon

Moonie

Happy weekend to you Velvet as well

I saw your post on Jurassic World about Gena and John. I know one of the films you admire most is their Woman under the Influence.

There's an Ingmar Bergman film called Face to Face which is an equally challenging film and a very strong performance. Swedish but with Englsih subtitles on Youtube in two parts:

I haven't seen the film but it's highly regarded.

It's unlikely that anyone else here would want to see the film but I thought I'd mention it to you.

Evening all.

Squiggle, PB saw the sparrows feeding their babies when she was here on Wednesday. She sat watching them through the kitchen window for ages.

Gosh El, it's been eventful round your way today. I'm glad the swans are back where they belong and the dodgy package was safely detonated.

Moonie, good to see you back, we have missed you. I loved the swan and cygnet video.

Velvet, I hope you and the boss have a good weekend too. Will you be off on a jaunt or stopping at home?

Fankoooo YogI

If you go into the Darnies and Cribsters threads, you will see two different videos of the cygnets

Good morning all a sunny one here, looking good

Moonie your videos are great, thanks for sharing

Skylark I hope you are recovering from your cold

Squiggle, yes the new house will be closer to work, making life a little easier in terms of time/travel/financial.
I've packed my first car load of boxes, it's strange packing up but I've also got that hope of new beginnings with me
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, the forecast is for a sunny day but we've just had quite a heavy shower I hope the sun is shining where you are.

I think your instincts are telling you that you have made the right decision Summer and I am glad that you are full of that lovely hopeful 'new beginnings' feeling

Yogi I am pleased that PB was able to watch the nestlings, so important because that way they learn about the natural world around them and that all creatures are important and valuable.

Enjoy your day everyone

Afternoon Buddies

Hope your weekend goes well

Sorry to say bad news to report. Been up the park this afternoon and cruel Mother Nature has taken another of the cygnets

Just three out of at least five left now

Silly I know but am very upset. Followed them from nesting to now. Sad to see them down to three. Let's hope they all survive

Have a lovely evening

Moonie

Oh no Moonie! Mother Nature can be very cruel at times, and I can understand why it's upset you.

Squiggle, I agree with you that it's important to teach little ones about the natural world. My parents, particularly my dad, encouraged us to take an interest in birds and nature, and I hope to pass that on to PB.

El, I hope they get the sick people who made the fake bomb!

Good morning everyone.

Weather is be be a mix of cloud and a little sunshine. At least the strong wind has disappeared.

El, will you be bopping along to the sounds of Elton?

Last night, I saw a little sparrow manage to get itself inside the nut feeder and help itself to a nut banquet. A bird or squirrel must have managed to prize the lid up. I tried to get a pic but the combination of low light and the backdop of high hedge made it impossible to get a clear pic.

This is the type of nut feeder I have.

Have a good day everyone.

Yogi, I doubt if I'll be bopping along this evening

I reckon it was more likely to be a squirrel prizing the lid up on your nut feeder.

Squiggle, I wouldn't expect the concert to be too intrusive. There have been music events at the rugby stadium before (Rick Wakeman last year and Madness a couple of weeks ago) and they weren't that noticeable. They're not like the SportBeat Fests which are held at the local playing field.

Moonie, the local bus service here on Sunday is hourly too.
