Just been speaking with a client. Something is going on  He's off work with a foot injury, another client broke his leg and it's taking time to mend, there's the client with the long term ankle replacement problems, another client with long term spinal problems, and yet another client who's in the process of getting back to work after having broken his arm.

I know some of my clients can be frustrating at times, but I don't go around kicking or hitting them

Wow your clients are accident prone - I am sure you don't kick 'em

Thanks, squiggle.

Those clients are the ones that I know about, there could be others who are injured and I'm not aware of that. (most of the ones I listed are in the 40s or 50s, the only one who is older - 65 - is the one who's returning back to work and is the only one where the injury was work-related)

I don't think any of us suspect you of beating up your clients, El.

Evening all.

Had a very busy day but also lots of fun with PB.

Hope you've all had a good day too.

Good Yogi

Everything was done and dusted by twelve. New alloy wheel collected (price was robbery but I had no option), dog walked and got the prawns for the bosses favourite - a hot baguette with diy guacamole and prawns with a topping of light seafood sauce

I loikes that PB brings joy - as it should be

Are the alloys on the car yet, does it looked pretty?

The boss has good taste, her favourite sounds delicious!

Thanks Velvet, she is a complete joy.

I've known "Rain, rain, go away. Come back another day" all my life so it's not just known in Scotland

I saw this thread on the Social Strata help forum today. I wonder if a supply of ruby slippers would help

https://www.socialstrata.com/s...bers-are-from-kansas

Good old British weather ensures all our kids learn the rhyme.

Good morning everyone.

The sun is shining atm  but rain is forecast for later.

I bought a pair of sandals online but they don't fit, so I need to return them to Debenhams today. Next time, I'll just go to the store in the first place!

Have a good day everyone.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, rainy and cold, more like February than nearly flaming June.  Yes we learned that rhyme too as children, but we sang 'rain rain go away come again another day'.

I would like to sign up for the ruby slippers most definitely we could go and visit those Gaga members who do live in Kansas

On the subject of shoes my daughter was ordering new trainers on my laptop and saw a pair with only 3 minutes to go so bid quickly and got them without looking at what size they were.  It wasn't very clear from the listing but when we checked (and they were cheap as chips) they were a size 6 and she is a size 4 so she chalked it up to experience but when they came they fitted   I hope Debenhams have them in a size that fits Yogi.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Downpour at preesent here, very local weather site shows 0.5mm per minute - that's 12 inches an hour, though of course it won't be anything like that.

Yogi, I hope Debenhams don't mess you about with the sandals.

Squiggle, I wonder of your daughter's trainers came from the States. If you look at this chart you'll see that their size 6.5 is our size 4.

On my local news website today:

Polly, a beautiful yellow and blue macaw, has been returned to her owner after she escaped from her home.

The parrot escaped when a door was left open in error and her owners had been planned to get her tagged by a vet.

Polly's owner Joanna Nihad was thrilled by the return of her beloved bird.

She explained the people of Gloucester had been getting in touch to let them know if they had spotted Polly.

"Someone got in touch to tell us that they'd seen her in their garden but she had then flown off. They didn't say where but they said that they'd recognised her from her picture," she added.

Polly is now back at her home in Tredworth.

 Everyone.
Weather here has been lashing rain, sun shining then cold wind, then more rain, then beating down sunshine  Cloudy and cold wind just now.
Hope you get the sandles changed, Yogi, what a nuisance.
Hope you all have a good weekend, if i dont get back on.
Love to Summer, i know she is busy at work just now.
Take care all

FM

Afternoon all.

I managed to get a refund for the sandals and bought a watch instead.

Skylark, it's been sunshine and showers over here too, and so cold for the time of year.

Summer, I'm glad you managed to get 5minutes to yourself.

El, I'm glad Polly was found.

I bet your daughter was delighted that her bargain shoes fitted, even if they did appear to be the wrong size, Squiggle.

Yogi19

Hectic last 90 minutes with a client finally getting around to answering my queries I had asked before Christmas (company accounts, not a personal tax return), the arrivial of some ex-gratia printer cartridges from HP (re my posting here on the 18th), British Gas ringing about them installing smart meters (my meters are at least 20 years old), and trying to have my lunch at the same time.

El Loro

I have had some odd calls to my mobile phone over the last few days. I rarely answer numbers I don't recognise and can't see anything about the numbers on who calls me. All of the numbers are different, seven in total, but they all end in 034. I answered the last one and there was silence, then an automated voice said "Goodbye".  I won't be answering any more of them.

Yogi19

Yogi, how strange and somewhat disconcerting. I do get those calls where there's just silence then the automated "Goodbye". Probably call centres ringing lots of people at the same time, only the first person to answer gets spoke to by a real person, all the others just get the silent message. I think call centres are allowed to do that once a day but aren't supposed to ring back on the same day. Any contravention and a report to OFCOM can be made.

El Loro

I am glad Polly was found safe and well.  Afternoon Summer I hope you're not too busy and able to enjoy the afternoon.  It was raining earlier but it's turned into a lovely sunny afternoon.

Those nuisance calls are a menace Yogi aren't they?  Glad you got a bargain on your salad lunch Skylark.  Wow that was a busy time EL I hope it has calmed down now, and you don't have indigestion.

squiggle

Squiggle, no I don't have any indigestion. Still a bit hectic though. Had another client ringing about a business rates form she's received a holiday let she has. I was able to look at the form online which helped and I'm sending her the signed copies of the accounts for the last 3 years which she has to send with the form.

I find that some weeks it can be fairly quiet, then all of a sudden several people contact me within a short period of time.

El Loro

I get those too, Yogi, very annoying. You can put the number in Google, who calls me, usually just someone trying to sell you something. I am thinking of changing my number to be honest. Glad you got a watch, no difference, Yogi
Hope you taking time to yourself now El
Was up shops and found these in the Poundshop. I asked at the counter how much they were. A young girl who looked like she had just had a lemon, said...A ÂĢ1, its a poundshop . I said oh yes so it is

Once when I was young I bought a lemon and had it with my lunch at a top of a hill which I had climbed. I've never tried eating a lemon again (I'd assumed that it would be as sweet as an orange)

And you found out they weren't!

Yes

Thanks both. Couple of things to attend to one of which may be a new lappy. Lets hope this Windows 8 or 8.1 is comprehensible and navigable for a novice.

 A new lappy sounds good.
