Mine is and always has been in the local church hall El

EDIT...It was in the local infant/junior school at one point, I have just remembered

Mine used to be at the school near me which is for children from 4 to 16 with special educational needs. Those looking for further education would probably go to the National Star College, which is near Chetlenham.

This was made in 1918 and of course is silent:

This morning on one of the news channels, I heard they discovered ammunition on that vessel...was it not a passenger liner? If so why was there ammunition on it?

Moonie, there has been a debate for a very long time as to whether the Lusitania was carrying some ammunition secretly ot was not. The ship sank off the Irish coast and I think I heard on the news that the Irish government won't permit a detailed examination of the sunken wreckage out of respect to those who died.

They have shown underwater footage of the wreck but nothing was visible as to ammunition El

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, dry at present, forecast to become wet.

Summer, I'm glad you are feeling a lot better and that you are pleased with your new car

Annual boiler service, should be routine. As the boiler is in the airing cupboard in the room where I have my computer, I won't be around for an hour.

I hope the Yogis have had a good break in London

El Loro

Good morning everyone, disappointingly cold and cloudy today, can we have some summer soon please?

Good news that you are feeling better Summer and enjoying the new car, I hope it will give you many happy years of trouble-free motoring.

I too hope that the Yogis are having a lovely time and we look forward to welcoming Yogi back with us.

Enjoy your day everyone

Amazon's concept of using drones to deliver parcels is getting closer, at least in the States:

I wonder if they will be programmed to leave it at the next door neighbours or throw it over the gate into the back garden if you aren't there

Well said, Skylark

In church on Sunday the organist at the end of the service started playing various songs which were very popular during WW2. I was right at the back of the church and could see  a couple of women at the back who would have been children at the time of the actual VE day celebrations. They were dancing together to the song "we'll meet again". The vicar happened to have her phone with her and snapped a photo of them.

Hi El, Aw that was nice.
My father was in the RAF, a flight engineer. Had a wee tear for him today, he passed a few years ago, but never a day went by, when he wasnt working he had his collar and tie on. He always had a bit of a rant of being called "the bryl cream boys"     Spelling of it may not be right.....
Hi moonie, hope you well x
Going to reboot, or feed the hamsters...............

you would definitely need a pair of these, wouldn't you?

Hi Skylark, I hope the re-boot works wonders and your broadband speed improves

Evening all a busy bee kind of day here but it's all good

Skylark it's lovely to remember your dad, I'm sure he's very much missed and I hope the VE Day coverage did them all justice. My gran was in the RAF and stationed in Norfolk, she drove trucks & ambulances among other vehicles.

El, that shirt is brilliant I especially like the giraffes!
I hope your boiler service went smoothly

Hi Velvet, we really enjoyed ourselves but it's also lovely to be back.

Did you take some sights in or just play it by ear?

We went on the London Eye and we spent an afternoon in the Imperial War Museum - I could have spent days in there! We went to Leicester Square and China town (as I've never been there before) and we saw High Society at The Vic.  I also made Mr Yogi take me to see the new Spooks movie, but that doesn't really count as a sight!
