That's good

I'm looking forward to BB starting too - but I'll still probably moan about it!

PB is great, she chatters away non stop - I don't know who she takes after!

 Do you think it's hereditary?

Quite possibly Whistling Smiley

But best like that than quiet and introverted

 That's true!

That's okay Ros, it was my fault for not explaining properly before I went off forum, and everyone assumed I was on a break.

It was just for a horrible CT scan but I also had to have a (very long!) tube put into my nose, then down through my stomach and into my bowel. It was being done under sedation so they said I had to stay in overnight. Very unpleasant but thankfully it's over and done with!

Good morning everyone

Sunny here at present, forecast to cloud over.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a nice day with PB and hope the blood tests go OK

Summer, well done on the successful party Bramble as the sheriff certainly kept the partygoers in order

Moonie, I hope the air is clearer in your area now after the fire and that the roads re-open.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, we had an April shower but it's clearing up nicely now. Result! Yogi - now you can just get your grocery shopping done - cakes certainly you deserve lots of cake this week and enjoy your day

It's a hive of industry outside with one lot of workmen working on the soffits (new term I've learned - the flat bits under the overhanging bits ) and the other lot of workmen cladding the dormer with Cedral, cement fibre board which has a lifetime of 50 years.  I have chosen a lavender blue to fit in with the pale blue of the house.  I popped into B&Q yesterday to look at the new Valspar range as mentioned by GJ and they have some very nice shades.  I brought home some samples and me and my grandson have chosen a very bold hot pink to paint the extension where I keep the washing machine, tumble dryer and extra fridge. It's a lean-to small conservatory, bit like a huge porch and I think the bold colour will go very well.  There's loads of windows which are white double glazed and white beams. I'll nip back next week and get a tester pot.  Definitely worth a look in your nearest B&Q very good range of colours, thanks GJ.

I hope the smoke and fumes from the fire has all died down now moonie.

Enjoy your day everyone

That's exactly what happens at my surgery.

The GP had asked me to make the appointment for bloods via a phone call on Monday morning, before I was certain I was going into hospital - they were still unsure whether there would be a bed at that point. The hospital visit was very last minute - (even my consultant wasn't aware I was in hospital until he arrived on the ward, although the procedure was requested by him. lol)

I had tried to cancel the appointment yesterday but the surgery was closed for staff training and the number was constantly engaged this morning.

Morning Squiggle, I shall definitely "capture" some cakes today!

The colours you have chosen sound lovely. I know it's a lot of work and upheaval but it will be worth it in the end.

Yogi, sounds a bit chaotic, but they gor it sorted out

It was, El - as was my description of it!

Morning everyone

Good news about the bloods Yogi

I went to my docs this morning and had to have a blood test

Hate blood tests

Yogi, rushed hospital appointments are better than ones in advance. You have less time to worry, I always find

Squiggle, good news on your battlefront renovations. Buzzing workmen is good

Morning El, there is no more smoke coming from the fire now and the roads appear to be open though I will find out later if the main road past the fire is also opened as I have to go down that way later today

Its cold and windy here with occasional sharp shower

Have a great day everyone

Moonie

Afternoon everyone
Glad you well Yogi, after your scan, rather unpleasant but thats it done.
Glad the party went well , Summer.
You sound busy squiggle, it will be worth it in the end, hopefully!
Hi, El, Moonie and all x
I got a letter from my GP surgery, totally out of the blue, saying 2000 patients are being relocated to other surgeries because of lack of GP,s.and i am one of them. Two have left and one on maternity leave. They have apparently advertised for GP,s but havent filled the posts. Although i realise the issues, i still feel a bit miffed at starting over with a new surgery, moreso as i am in the middle of various treatments.and been there for nearly 20 years. Its quite a thought starting again with GP,s i dont know, and dont know me. Not much notice either, May 5th i am with new surgery.
Anyway, love to all and have a good day x

FM

Hi Skylark

Pretty sad about having to move to a new doctors especially as you are in process of treatments

I hope it goes smoothly

Will you have to travel much further?

I have been with my surgery all my life. We are on doctor number two now, though he is only doing two days a week he tells me this morning. He has acquired a new female partner now though. Never had a female GP before

Got no problems with that thought tbh

Moonie

Hi moonie, no the new surgery isnt far. My daughter getting moved too. She has various health issues and it was easier talking to the GP, whom we shared about it all. Now it starts all over.
I am sure you will be fine with the female GP! A bit strange if you havent had one before, but she has seen everything before!
We are a very large surgery, but 2000 being moved is a lot, although i suspect a lot will be those who dont use the surgery much . There was an article in our local paper about it, trying to find it now as i dont get the paper much x
Hope you well yourself x

FM

Hi El, thanks yes hope it will be fine. I am getting to the age whereby change doesnt agree with me!
Lashing rain here just now, and very dark clouds. We had a power cut yesterday , from noon till 5.50pm. Hope we dont have another.(dont know the reason for it) Just cleaning my fridge out, freezer stuff will be ok. Not taking any chances on fresh stuff in fridge , not much but packs of ham etc. Seems a waste of good food, but when in doubt.....x

FM
Good afternoon very cold and showery here today, everyone isn't impressed lol

Skylark that's very unsettling, Is there an option to appeal that decision? Or, let's hope your new docs actually turn out to be a blessing
Hope you & your daughter are both doing well with treatments

Yogi, I'm glad you didn't have to go for more bloods today

Hi El

The road is still partially closed. No smoke now, I am pleased to say

I was watching aerial video of the fire during and afterwards. The building looks like it will have to be demolished
