Moonie, I have to go on courses as is required by my accountancy institute in order to keep up to date. I've 3 more courses booked during the rest of this year though the next one isn't for some time. Big changes coming in for company accounts, and also changes to charity accounts so two of the courses are for those. The third course is a tax update course. In previous years I would have gone to the one which was run locally yesterday morning but I decided to go to the one in September. That's because it's quite possible that there will be another budget before long.

 

Yep, I do realise you are required to go on these courses

There is HUGE column of black smoke billowing into the sky from a fire about a mile away. We have several large chemical factories around here so I am going nowhere for now 

I have just had a look on the local news website and they are saying its a local plastics factory. I went past there on the bus earlier today 

I did look at them this morning, and I have had blueberry ones before but for this time I plumped for the lemon ones, again

I have now learned on the local news that there where several explosions that blew a wall out into the road I had gone up and down on a bus a few hours earlier 

It's a plastics factory or at least was. They are saying what is left will have to be demolished 

No one seems to have been hurt by the looks of it, thank goodness. 60 firefighters are still there and all roads in the area are still closed. Not much smoke now but you can still 'taste' it in the air. 

They reckon they will be 'damping' down all night 

Moonie, I've jsut seen the start of the local news on television - all about the fire. They are saying keep all windows and doors shut overnight for those nearby though they don't think the smoke is toxic.

 

I saw that too El but as this company makes plastic pellets for the motor industry, I am somewhat sceptical 

But what do I know over and above our emergency services 

Evening all the party was a big success, the clean up is done, the car is MOT'd and Bramble has had her booster jabs! Mr Summer is out for the evening and us girls have done our nails and come to bed early

I hope you're all well and keeping warm, winter winds have returned and we even saw a few snowflakes yesterday. The sun is hot when the wind clams, and the bluebells are making an appearance so I've been walking slowly to fully appreciate them.

Yogi I'm glad you're back home and can put it behind you now I hope you've had a fun PB day, lots of cuddles and are enjoying a nice relaxing evening now
