You must take a lot of photos

They are all saved to my laptop and I'm double checking I have them all saved to a memory stick, then I'll delete them from the cloud.

My day was busy but good fun thank you, school holidays are a bit

You caught me!

We aren't keen on courgettes, I'm afraid.

I'm going to do tomatoes and some herbs and I might do some beetroot and onions.

Night night, sweet dreams.

Good morning everyone, Yogi you need a nice relaxing bath, does Radox in it really help with the aches and pains I wonder, hope you feel better soon

Those star gazing igloos look great fun, I wonder how long I would last before I drifted off though, and I always find it frustrating because I don't know my constellations as well as I think I ought to.

Off to Homebase this morning, my grandson is going to be painting my living room for me so we need some bits.

Enjoy your day everyone

Being an accountant I noticed the bit on the news today about Labour intending to abolish the concept of non-domiciles for tax purposes. I have just one client who is potentially non-dom but as her income is just in the UK she pays the tax as we do. If Labout win and do abolish the concept, I hope they realise that any non-doms who become liable to tax on their non-UK income will be able to offset some or all of any foreign tax they've paid on that income. For instance someone domiciled in Russia but UK resident would pay 45% current top rate - 13% Russian tax rate = 32% UK tax on their Russian income rather than 45%.

El Loro

My aches and pains eased off, but, as I've just spent another couple of hours in the garden, I'm expecting some aches again tomorrow.

Joe, we are off to B&Q later today. We need a new lawnmower and some fence paint.

Squiggle, what colour of paint have you chosen?

Skylark, I hope you have a nice day out with your granddaughter.

El, (excuse my ignorance) does that mean Labours' plan won't put any more coffers into the tax pot?

Summer, are you day off today? If so, I hope you are enjoying the good weather.

Moonie, I hope your fridge freezer is still working and your washing is out on the line.

Catch up later.

Yogi, well done on braving the garden and I hope you don't ache tomorrow. I hope your trip to B&Q is successful

Yogi, I don't think it's possible to say what effect abolishing the concept of non-doms would have on the tax pot. It depends on a) how much forign income do non-doms get each year, b) how much foreign tax on that income could be offset against the UK tax, c) to what extent would non-doms decide to leave the UK as a result and how much loss would that be to the UK economy. 3 huge unknowns making it impossible to say what the effect would be. I'm not saying that the plan is wrong, just that we can't say what the effect would be.

El Loro

Back home laden down with rollers etc.  Summer for the living room just freshening up, the colour is magnolia in there Yogi which sounds deathly dull but in reality is a lovely warm cream which goes nicely with the pale green and pink, carpet and curtains.

When we get to the hall it will be a change of colour hopefully from magnolia - again - to a pale turquoise.

The weather is much better than yesterday when a ginormous sea mist rolled in and filled the valley all afternoon.  Hope the weather is good for everyone and especially all those on half-term.

*night owls* evening erm.. Where did the day go?!
The weather was glorious so I ended up staying out for longer and walking 10 miles!
Then I popped to SIL's to do her hair, cooked tea, washed my hair and skyped my mum.

Oh no, get well soon Moonie and come back soon. I hope you didn't hurt yourself bashing that fridge freezer!

Squiggle those colours sound lovely, I too go for non offensive pastel walls and then jazz the rooms up with splashes of colour using textiles & accessories

I didn't get to the garden centre maybe this weekend

Yes, I am! Getting my hands in the soil (I don't wear gardening gloves!) got my gardening juices going again.

I hope you do get to the garden centre at the weekend, there's lots of lovely plants around atm.
