I got a letter from my brother today. He asked me if the new personal savings allowance coming in from April next year (for standard rate tax payers the first £1,000 won't be taxable) included interest on ISAs. The answer is that it doesn't - ISA interest won't get included.

Thanks moonie I mentioned the bit about ISA interest as, if my brother didn't know, others wouldn't. The chancellor's budget didn't make it clear and I had to find the answer in a document released by the Treasury.

Youngest son and his GF joined us for dinner, and middle son and DiL returned from Newcastle in time to join us too.

It was a high scoring rugby match, did you enjoy it despite not winning the Six Nations Cup, Moonie?

Pooer day yesterday for the Gloucestershire football clubs with Cheltenham Town, Forest Green Rovers (based at Nailsworth) and Gloucester all losing. Cheltenham already look like a relegated side.

Thus far today I have watched Aussie Rules footie, some skiing, now have French footie on. However, I am also bedroom clean, singular 

Been at it off and on for two hours or so and still not finished. At one time I could have done the whole upstairs in that time 

At least I can still do it
