He was very lucky, they normally put them in before they even let you near the camera

Then there is the piccies with the flash light right in your eyeballs. Can always see it for hours afterwards and invariably causes a migraine

He fully expected to have the drops put in, which was why I was there to drive him home - and he was quite happy he didn't have to have them.

Nout to report really. We'll go out tomorrow in pursuit of one of them long free standing pivotal mirrors used in bedrooms. For a tight car garage

Hope we're all okay. Squiggs and her grandson doing successful homework on a car and Yogi with her SPF 20. El, have a good a weekend. Sweet you too and good to see moonman out and about.

HAGWE ye all and be good to yourselves

Ingenious use of a mirror.

No need for the SPF20, Velvet. We're off to Prague and I think it's colder over there than it is over here, atm.

 Sounds awful, Moonie.

Still it has to be done. So you grin and bear it

Evening Yogi

Sounds great!    If I go to Hamilton these days it's like a trip abroad

I might need to stop speaking French though.

One of my DiL's is originally from Hamilton. Not sure how good her Français is though.

Thanks Moonie. I'm hoping the weather stays dry.

The forecast isn't too bad for the weekend, so fingers crossed

 That's good news.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy and breezy here, probably staying dry today though rain is forecast tomorrow.

Busy afternoon and early evening for me yesterday. I wemt to see the church treasurer yesterday afternoon to return the accounting records and go through what I found during my checking of her draft accounts. Whilst there we found a problem with the church spreadsheet I had done in the current Excel format. One of the functions was not working. When I got home I found the same on my copy. Old format worked fine, current format not working.

It took quite some time to work out what the problem was. It was nothing to do with the coding I had used. A recent Microsft security update has created the problem so that for some people, what are called ActiveX controls have stopped working on Excel, Word, and other Microsoft products. They have got a temporary fix for it which I used and the spreadsheet now works.

Most straightforward basic spreadsheets and word documents don't use ActiveX controls so this won't cause problems for the majority of people.

Skylark, I hope your meeting went well

Yogi, I hopw your packing is on course and the weather doesn't cause problems for you

I watched the last part of the Davis Cup match last night between James Ward and John Isner at Glasgow, Fantastic match.

You can see the entire match on iPlayer:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/e...es-ward-v-john-isner

Though at 5 hours 20 minutes long, it's rather long but it's very good.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, a bright morning although a little on the cold side.

Yogi I hope the packing is going well, how exciting, I have heard it's a very beautiful city.  Skylark I hope the meeting went well, it must be comforting to be able to discuss the problems that arise Well done EL on sorting out that sticky problem, I wouldn't have been able to work out what on earth was wrong with it.

Enjoy your day everyone

Moonie

Afternoon all.

My packing is finished and we've double checked the paperwork, passports etc.

Moonie, I hope your washing machine has arrived or is due very soon.

Squiggle, I hope you are having a relaxing day.

El, I'm glad you sorted out the spreadsheet problem.

I won't be here to watch Call The Midwife and Poldark but I will be recording both. I really enjoyed the Poldark books and the original series, so I hope the remake measures up!

Summer, thanks for the hug.

Have a good day everyone.

Moonie, I'm glad your washer arrived on time

I never saw the original Poldark series so can't make any comparisons. My parents didn't see it either. The first episode was shown on my father's birthday and as it was shown fairly early in the evening we would have been having a birthday tea at the time. Old editions of the Radio Times showing the listings are are http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/

It is restricted to just the BBC television and radio channels.

All ready for the off Yogi, how long is the flight?  I have my doubts about Poldark, I loved the original and the clips I have seen have not impressed me I think I'll give it a miss.

Thanks Squiggle

Weather is beautifu here too. Nope, my nephew will sort it on Monday when he returns home. I can't even move it across the kitchen let alone into place under the work surface
