Summer, one of my clients reaches retirement age in May. I doubt if he will cease working then as he likes the work. So the NI issue is one which is relevant to him. I will ring him in the next few days to see if he's happy for me to ring the HMRC agent phone number and see what they have to say about it. It's something which they may need to look into and come back to me. The HMRC document on the changes doesn't mention it.

Neither does the letter I received from them.

I'm not intending to retire when I get to the state retirement age. I'll keep on working as long as I feel inclined to.

Thank you, i feel very productive today. I made time to give myself a facial, read my book in the bath and watch a movie too

 You have done well today.

I'm going to get off for a bath and an early night, I'll catch up properly tomorrow.

Hugs for the night owls.

A client rang me about not having received his tax repayment. I double checked with him that I had put the right details on his return then went on to the HMRC website for agents to request the repayment. I had to type in the details of the bank and was a bit puzzled by the result. So I checked the Sort code on a sort code checker website and confirmed I had the correct one (for Gloucester).

I rang the HMRC to ask them about it and they agreed to send the client a cheque.

For some reason the result on screen was for a branch in Chelmsford instead of Gloucester

Glad you got it sorted, and I bet the client is too!

Oh dear not very efficient of HMRC EL, doesn't fill you full of confidence does it?

Hi Skylark, hope you enjoy the half term with GD.

Maple syrup and crispy smoked bacon.

Ooh that is unusual, like with American breakfasts.

I also like them with lemon and sugar, or some jam.

I think she'll enjoy making pancakes with you, does she like mini marshmallows?

She might have to make do with a heart shaped one!

She loves mini marshmallows. When we made the gingerbread men at christmas, she was supposed to decorate them with mini marshmallows but she kept eating them.
