We are taking her out tomorrow, Summer. Weather permitting, we are going to a huge park with a garden centre too.

Today, she chose to watch her uncle wash his car in the driveway! We had to get our coats on, granny had to sit on the doorstep while PB sat in my lap and she played peekaboo with her uncle as he bobbed up and down as he cleaned the car wheels.

How lucky there's a garden centre near the park Yogi

Isn't she sweet?

I know! I love that park.

Her uncle let her sit on his knee in the driving seat in his car and peep the horn - several times, which no doubt annoyed the neighbours.

Wow moonie! That's a great score

There is a book and toy section in the garden centre, so she likes that - and she likes the cafe.

She will be one happy little PB then

 Indeed.

She has a little pink handbag her auntie and uncle bought her. She was walking about with it hanging from her arm today. I asked her where she was going with the handbag and she replied "shops!". I asked her what she was going to buy and she said "a paper.... for ***** (DiL's dad). What cracked me up was she didn't say Grandpa, she used his Christian name.

PB's biscuit decorating was certainly original.

 Brilliant PB

She takes after her grandad, she loves to eat!

I've reached my curfew time, so I'm going to get off.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Summer and Moonie.

Night owl hugs.

Good morning everyone

Fairly cloudy here, forecast is dry today, wet tomorrow.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a good day with PB yesterday and hope today's is good as well

Summer, I had that letter about Class 2 national insurance contributions some weeks ago. The present direct debit continues until around July/August. They are paid about 3 or 4 months in arrears so the last one will relate to up to 5 April. (It used to be paud quicker but a few years ago the payments stopped for 3/4 months). In future the Class 2 NI will be paid as part of the tax payments and the 2015/16 tax return will presumably be changed for this. There are some aspects of this change which I don't know yet how it will work. For instance when you reach retirement age during a tax year at present you stop paying class 2 at that time but pay class 4 for the whole of that tax year. Do we have to pay class 2 for the whole tax year or not?

Good morning   misty, damp start here with the potential to see sunshine break through

I've come back to bed to lay in while my laundry washes

El, I hope they get it sorted out. They didn't bill me for 18 months despite my phoning them several times- I would have thought they would have wanted my money. A pay as you earn system would be simpler, thank goodness we keep organised records.
I'll be doing my weekly bookkeeping shortly, things are looking good even though this should be a quiet time of year
~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, one advantage of the new system for collecting the class 2 national insurance is that what happened to you can't happen again to people.

I do know that the tax return will work out the number of weeks someone has been self employed in a tax year for the number of weeks NI to be paid. It will also not automatically incur a liability for those whose profits are below the threshold for paying NI (they can pay it though if they wish to).

What it doesn't claiify is the point I made about people reaching state retirement age in a tax year.
